Had a tent only campsite for one night. Disappointed that there was no running water for those sites, but understand the challenges of keeping water flowing in that environment. Available water wasn't too far away. Really, really upset that the quiet time curfew WAS NOT ENFORCED! How could the camp host NOT HEAR the partying going on somewhere in the campground (group site, maybe?). I mean, really? They didn't shut up until midnight. For those of us starting the rim-to-rim the next day did so sleep deprived, not the way to begin an epic backpack. What's the point in having a policy if you don't enforce it? I wound up getting out of my tent and trying to catch some sleep in my car! Very uncomfortable, but at least it blocked out those yahoos.

Went in mid-October and stayed in a tent only site. The campsites were pretty close to each other, so we heard other people late at night / early in the morning. The flush toilets near the tent only sites were closed early for the season, so we had to drive a bit to get to the toilets near the RV sites. The sinclair gas station was also out of glass. However, it was very convenient for visiting north rim.

Had a very cold night at the north rim the night before my rim to rim hike. The hike was spectacular with snow and ice on the trail up high that disappeared as I got lower down into the canyon. The micro spikes were key to feeling safe at the start. The trail was sparsely travelled, waterfalls and Bright Angel Creek were flowing, it was perfect. South Kaibab was a tough hike out, but the views were wonderful. I got to see a bighorn sheep cross the trail just a few yards in front of me. Started in full winter gear, stripped down to shorts and t shirt for most of the hike and redressed again as I got closer to the S Kaibab trailhead. This is a great time of the year for a rim to rim hike.

It was awesome in the rain, sun and night.

The campground was nice and well maintained, but the showers were closed. I was really counting on the showers.

Quiet and well maintained. Offers additional amenities nearby. I'd definitely return.

Would have given 5 starts if there were showers.

Wonderful campground within walking of the North Rim and trails. Our tent only site was huge. I hope to come here again someday.

Usually our go to campground, but with the shower and laundry facilities closed it wasn’t the usual. The dining options were also pretty limited with the lodge being sold out each night.

I took a solo camping trip for one night to the North Rim campground.
It is a beautiful spot with a raised enclosed tent spot, picnic table, and just a short walk to bathrooms.
It was magical to sleep under 6 towering Ponderosa pines. Just across the road is a path along the rim of the Grand Canyon. Just lovely to have easy access.
I was content to stay in the camping area for the day and night.
Next day after packing up, I drove up to the lodge and walked Bright Angel. I also checked out other trailheads listed on the GC map. Delightful.
