North Rim Campground was great for us. The General Store is super convenient and has a lot of nice supplies and snacks, frozen food options, some gifts/souvenirs, and also some medical things like bandaids. It's also right next to the Transept trail, so it's easy to walk five minutes to an immediate canyon view.On our recent trip, we visited campgrounds at three national parks, and this was probably my favorite of the three.

Great site, but like many NP campsites, its not level. We got our Class B van level fairly easily via our plastic legos, but if you dont have any way to level your RV, you may not be comfortable.

What a beautiful experience with both the hiking, amenities, and quietness of the campsite. So looking forward to next years memories.

Great place. Dinner was crowded but good. Server was excellent. Campground was very quiet. Animals did not bother us. Bees were tolerable.

Very thankful to have the gas station and camp store. Everyone was very helpful, especially camp host Bill and his wife.We have always wanted to hike the Widforss Trail and finally did, loved the combination of forest and canyon.

This is an absolutely beautiful park, of course, and the campground is very convenient to the lodge and has nice shaded sites. The shower building needs some serious renovation, and the site we had was quite unlevel for our van, but part of the charm of the place is that it isn't Disney World and everything isn't perfect! I had to rate the experience as very good rather than excellent as only one shower worked - sort of - in the men's side (at least it was free - water worked without putting in the $1.50 in quarters you were supposed to have to pay) and only two worked in the women's side, and we had a 14 inch step down out of our van off of our side step once we got leveled. That said, a big part of me hopes they don't change a thing. The last thing we need is another south rim experience repeated on the North Rim. So if you want to camp rather than glamp (no hook-ups), and want to avoid huge crowds, see spectacular views, enjoy great hikes on trails in the full spectrum of challenge from fully accessible to "people really have died" difficult, a little mountain biking on the Arizona Trail, and near by drives with numerous scenic pull-offs, then this is the place for you. Great drinking water is available conveniently located throughout the grounds and the bathrooms are well maintained and also conveniently located. Dining at the Lodge definitely isn't what it was in the past (7-10 years ago) as the service is almost as good as in the past, but the food is most definitely not. Still, sipping a cup of coffee or a cold drink on the patio is just as jaw-droppingly spectacular as ever!

Getting a site was the hardest part. Lots of reservation cancellations the last two weeks prior. Got reminders of the reservation a week prior - maybe send another out two weeks before (seems lots of cancelations came as result of folks getting the notice). Camp store at Campground was good, with nice selection of freeze dried foods, little camp essentials and souvenirs.

Very, very nice campground. Clean, well maintained and friendly staff. Beautiful walking paths throughout the campground - some of which went right down to the canyon with amazing views.

The campground was very nice. However. The space we had was very uneven and it took a little bit of work to get our camper leveled out.

We loved the shady & large site #74! It was very convenient next to the waters and close (but not too close) to the very clean flush/running water bathrooms. It was also close to the trailhead with views of the canyon through the trees. Would love to go back again!

We spent hours trying to piece together three different campsites for our stay of four nights. We were denied many campsites because they were reserved but managed to finally piece it together. When we got there we observed many campsites had a reserved posting on the site, but no one showed up for some of those empty sites. In fact there was at one time a fourth of the campgrounds vacant. Some campgrounds were vacant for multiple days before Original holders ever showed up. It seems like there should be a higher cost to make reservations, and they would lose that initial deposit if they dont show up. If they do show up there is a refund back down to the normal price. I believe people are holding or hoarding campsites because they can and they are cheap without a penalty. Its not making good use of the campsites.

People have reserved almost all or truly the entirety of all the sites making it almost impossible to get sequential camp sites or sites that were available at all. We had three sites over a four day period. One one day of our stay between May 24-28 2021, only half of the sites were occupied, in the meantime we were having to move from site to site. Later we learned from the rangers there that some sites, reserved by guests that were not used at all. Some people reserved a site (some time ago) for many nights and it is evident by the occupancy of the sites and testimony of the rangers that people are reserving sites and not showing up. For the low cost of the sites I suppose they feel it’s too much trouble to cancel those nights; essentially denying anyone else to stay there for one or two or three nights etc. Multiply that by 70-90 sites and now we have a hoarding of sites situation. Not good. I’m not happy that I had to move from one to another to another all the while the “empty” sites which were claimed by others never showed up for their days. There needs to be either:
1. A higher no show fee, or better yet,
2. A $100 reservation cost with the benefit that if the buyer of the sites actually shows up for their first night, they get a refund of the site cost subtracted from their $100 deposit. If they don’t show up it’s $100. Hurts huh?! Yah. It hurts. This may prevent others from just blowing off their effort to cancel low cost sites and denying someone else from stay there or for us, having to switch every day around sites that are “pAid” for but never used.

North rim on a clear day in summer is one of the best.

The campground was a welcomed sight following our exit from the "Canyon". ..If your trip is planned for the September-early October timeframe, prepare for colder evenings and possibility of brief rain showers. We were fortunate enough to avoid any moisture; however, both campground and general store staff members reported rain a few days prior to our arrival. Finally, to mention the shower accommodations...good facilities, but a little distant from the primary campground. I advise you have your bath supplies complete with towel, washcloth, soap and shampoo, if required, + change of clothing. Bathrooms are clean, warm and located centrally to make it navigable during late night/early morning visits.

It was the most magical campground! Hughes sites, beautiful trees, clean bathrooms, my kids had the most marvelous time. In our 6 week camping trip it was our favorite campground! You can walk right over and see a beautiful sunset on the rim!
