Site was clean and convenient. The only frustration was that the showers opened late and closed early. They also cost money to use.

The campground is huge with several loops in a forested part of the park. We had plenty of shade and were close to the bathroom. It felt crowded and would have liked more space at our camp site and in between campsites. There were no showers at the restrooms, but bathrooms were ok.

Great campground! Super clean and spacious. In walking distance from the showers and laundry. And only a short drive from the GC Village (or a little bit of a walk)

The campground was great. We camped for 7 nights which made our Grand Canyon experience more terrific than we expected. It added to our outdoor experience. The elk and mule deer were awesome.

Mather campground is excellent - well laid out/adjacent to showers and laundry, on bus route.

Where to start - the campground itself is nice. Sites are spread out enough to where you're not on top of people. I realized (quickly) that whoever the genius was that put the rumble strips in the road near the campground alerting cars to "slow down" is not too bright, as all you hear is "vrrrrrrt vrrrrrrt" half the night (if you're in a tent) when trying to sleep with all the car/truck traffic if you have a site in the general vicinity. Some people were using their gas generator well past the 8 p.m cutoff, and then the topper were the people in the site near me who showed up at 9 p.m. and were loud, and then slept in their car....with the car running most of the night for heat (low of 23 degrees that night), so all I heard was the fan on their engine turning on every 1 1/2 - 2 minutes, running for 15-20 seconds, then shutting off.....rinse, repeat for hours on end. Needless to say I didn't really sleep that night and didn't stay the 2 nights (packed up and left after 1 night). But, that's par for the course with inconsiderate/stupid people these days. I would probably camp there again, but much further away from the road where the rumble strips are, and bring earplugs. Oh, got to hear some coyotes howling out to each other in the area in the middle of the night, which was kind of cool. Also I think a raven fell out of a tree around midnight as I heard a ruffle of feathers, branches and a thud, and then the bird calling out rather gruffly......then another bird coming to its aid, then flying all around the area squawking its head off for 5-10 minutes. Definitely an entertaining place, that's for sure.

Beautiful site, easy to navigate as well. about a 15 minute walk from my site (074) to the rim and about a 10 minute walk from the market plaza. Bathrooms were well kept and noise level was very respectful for the time I was there. Had phone service the whole campsite so if an emergency happened it was nice. The camp hosts at the check in gates were very helpful and kind when asking for help and directions, close to a shuttle station (although due to covid they were not running when I went). I would highly recommend this campsite to anyone who is looking for it. I would also highly recommend the Desert View Campground, it is smaller and just as nice!

Campsite was clean and lovely. The spaces are pretty close to others which means we heard a lot, but everyone was respectful of the quiet hours. I was glad to have a spot near the restrooms, but because they use hand dryers we could hear them all night which is something to note. My guess is the further away from the bathroom the quieter it might be.

We stayed in tent set #90. Grounds very well maintained and kept clean. Restrooms and showers were clean. We enjoyed our visit and will definitely return!
