Great campground with plenty of space and surrounded by nature. We saw many elks on the site, which was fantastic. The toilets could be cleaned more regularly.

Our site at Mather campground was a little tight however still fit us with camper and trailer. We found the organization of shuttle and activities and stores at various locations very convenient.

Large pull-through site that was easy to access and fairly close to restrooms. Some noise from nearby campsites. Plenty of trees and incredible stargazing.

Paved roads throughout! Nice pull-through spots. LARGE campsites with campfire and table. Peaceful and quiet. Good bathrooms and water spigots. GREAT location (less than 1 mile to the Rim Trail).

I was boondocking outside the park for a couple nights and wanted one night in the park to watch sunset, stargaze, use the facilities, etc.It was raining when we got there and check in was straight forward. The bathrooms were clean and it was nice to be camped inside the park, but when we got to our site there was still trash all over the place from whoever stayed before us. I felt obligated to pick it up and had to do it early the following morning when it wasnt raining in near freezing weather. Given there is an hour buffer between check out and check in I was disappointed this is how I received my site. The generator rules were also not well stated when I was booking and are very odd. The lady at check in said they were strictly enforced and are only permitted from 6pm-8 pm (almost pointless for me as I went to watch a 6:45 sunset) and from 7am-9am. Then on my way out I went to use the dump station and it was in shambles. The sewage hole itself isnt vented or isnt vented well enough and caused sewage to splash onto the concrete pad. The cover for it is missing the opening action youre supposed to step on, so you have to open it with your hands. There is no flush water provided and the ranger recommended I hook my hose up to the potable water faucet ~35 away! I cannot believe a national park can get away with such a poorly maintained dump station. Super bummed about the majority of my experience in the campground especially when I had a great time the 3 days prior camping for free and just driving an extra 10-15 min.

We really enjoyed our stay at Mather campground. Also all the park service employees were helpfully, polite and friendly.

Location was great. Staff was AWSOME. Generator rule was not reasonable as there was adverse weather conditions. Staff should have be a bit more understanding for the unpredictable reason.

This is a wonderful campground with many amenities nearby. The shuttle system though out the park is great. Nice to have clean, affordable showers nearby.

A great place to bring the family, or friends. Bathrooms are close, there is a general store within a few minutes from campground, Cheaper than hotels, Close to the scenic views. I took myself and my 3 sons ages 14 , 16, and 23. We never camped before and we had the time of our lives. Highly recommended.
