Mather Campground was a wonderfully pleasant experience. I tend to go to Mather during the off-season. What I like about Mather is that the sites are far enough apart that other campers do not bother you. There are enough trees for some shade or at least the ability to make shade if you have a tarp. It is also a walkable distance to two major hikes into the Grand Canyon. It is also easy to bike from the campground to sites to hike and to the main village. In all a well-planned campground.

We loved the location and our campsite. All of the facilities were clean and easily accessible. The staff were friendly and very helpful. We will definitely be returning.

Campground was cute! The workers at the check in desk were very helpful and friendly. Had some elk come through our site in the morning

A lovely campground with spacious sites. The free shuttle busses make getting around the park easy (beware, the lines pile up around meal times). We were disappointed the camper services were only open from 8-4–showers at the end of the day would have been nice.

Park rangers were very helpful with hiking suggestions. Shuttle wait in late afternoon was over 30 minutes but beautiful views and skies as we waited.

We always love the Grand Canyon and this was our first time at Mather Campground. It was very convenient, close to the shuttle and surprise—two baby fawns on the way to the restrooms in the morning!

The campground is very large, but nice. Restrooms are clean. Shower facilities available in the mornings.

No frills campground, by its very experience, the lack of full hook ups prevents too much generators or noise. Mather camground was mostly tents and like-minded campers in Grand Canyon for the experience. It was a good place. and appropriately spaced out too!
