The campsite themselves were nice and big with a good fire pit and clean picnic table. The bathrooms were relatively clean but the sink was broken in one of them. Asking $2.50 in quarters for five minutes in the shower is quite inconvenient and much higher price than any other campsite I've come across. Overall very positive experience.

Great location, easy to navigate, confortable and afordable. The loops are well laid out, and even though the spots are a bit close to each other you can still manage to be in your own space, if that makes sense. It has great infraestructure, with large and clean restrooms in the loops, and a larger shower room near the camp's entrance, alongside a small store and loundry room. It has many trees and wildlife (deers and elks), which makes it very cozy and friendly. People were mostly kind and respectfull, and the enviroment was normaly quiet. Having said that, it is a more busy camping ground, with many people coming and going, kids and dogs going around as well.

This was our third year camping at Mather and we have had only great experiences there. We look forward to going back again next summer. We tent camp and had Site 83 this year (site 75 previous two years), and were thoroughly happy with the site.

Great location if you want to stay inside the Park. Otherwise, the Tusayan Montane could be a better option if you want more privacy. Overall, our experience was anyway great!

Loved this campground and site! We will definitely be back. You might want to contact the campground before your late fall/early winter visit to check on the water pumps/fauces. It was turned off by the time we got there due to the cold, but it definitely didn't ruin the experience. Site 83 had two really good spots for tents if you are tent camping.

Site was good and my immediate neighbors were quiet, although I walked by some RV sites and they had generators running and being pretty noisy, so just make sure when you select your site on the map that you pick a spot away from RV spots if you want a quieter spot. Good view of the stars.

My wife and I travelled to the Grand Canyon to celebrate our anniversary - we had the good fortune to stay at the Mather Campground on our first night. We were both impressed with the friendly, helpful staff and the cleanliness of the facilities. Our tent site was perfect for our needs - level, good privacy, convenient walking distance to the bathrooms. The water tasted great. It was just a skip to get to the impressively stocked general store - such a great selection of hiker foods & gear with prices that were reasonable ( I would have expected them to be inflated but that wasn't the case). This is a great campground to bring a family to. Not such a great place for singles - the sign at the office clearly states "NO HOOKUPS". Geez, I wish I'd taken a picture of that....

Campground was wonderfully laid out. Check in was simple and we were provided ample information on bus routes. Restrooms were clean as was the campground. We had a good portion of shade. Elk hung around the campgrounds. Would highly recommend .

Campsite was excellent. Only disappointment was that the showers closed at 4:00 every day. When you hike into the canyon you want a shower. The early hours force an early exit from the trail or a stinky tent.
