Peaceful, quiet, clean, and the restrooms were well cared for. The showers at Camper Services were also clean and well cared for. Easy access to the Marketplace and all South Rim locations by foot, bike, or shuttle.

Mather Campground is beautiful and amazing. Each time were there we see different animals wandering around. The park rangers are friendly and attentive. This will be our annual spring vacation destination and the weather is perfect!

The ranger at check in was very friendly and checked us in quickly. The campground was clean, and we did notice there was an attendant that cleaned and serviced the restrooms which we had noticed were already very clean.Had a couple of deer walk through the campsite while we were sitting there. That was nice.

Campsite was clean and staff are very helpful and friendly. The shower hours were a little short but with some rearranging I got to go to bed feeling clean. Great location right in the middle of the park.

The campsite was a good size for our two tents. It was surrounded with trees for shade and close to the toilets.

Mather is a nice campground and the facilities were fairly well maintained. Note that the showers/laundry close very early during winter hours, so you'll need to account for that in your day planning. The only complaint I have is is more about people than the campground. Our campsite, #54 on Aspen Loop, was right next to the bathroom, so the entire time we were there, people kept walking right through out campground to go to the bathrooms. They would even walk in between our tent and the car, an area that could never be mistaken for anything BUT a campsite. This incredibly rude behavior was somewhat jarring and made my daughter and I uncomfortable the entire time we were there. I don't know what Mather could do about this, except maybe clear signage asking people to respect other people's campsites. This did not appear to be an issue at other campsites, so I would just caution people against getting site 54, as its location makes it an open highway for anyone and everyone to cross through on their sojourn to the restrooms.

If you want a shower after hiking, think ice cold sponge bath. Showers close very early.

Had a beautiful October stay. We had to move sites 3 x over the days, but it was still worth it. We had 2 reserved sites and managed to get an FF site for the 3rd (261 was an AWESome site!).

Well kept campground. Flush toilets. Spacious site with trees. Lots of room for tents and playing. Fire ring and picnic table are crowded together right next to drive area and rocks. This site is right next to the bathroom and dumpster. Good if you have kids. But you'll hear the noise and have bright lights all night so if you don't need to be right at the bathroom, another site might be better.

Try to find a space away from the restrooms. The fan most of the people use after washing to dry their hands sounds like a F16 taking off next to you all night.

The campsite that I reserved, and paid for, was taken over by someone else. There is no on-site host outside of business hours. When I arrived around 10pm, I was effectively homeless. The site post had MY RESERVATION attached to it, but "people" just don't care. To top it off, the squatters left an unattended fire burning in the fire ring. Yes... an unattended fire... in the Grand Canyon National Park.

The site was well maintained and close to the bathrooms. We wish the picnic table was oriented to the firepit better in order to actually be able to sit on it with the fire going (it was 30 degrees when we stayed). The showers were only open 8-4 pm (this is not the fault of NPS, but they should still be open longer for those that do day-long hikes). Overall, the staff was very helpful and friendly and the free shuttle system that goes throughout the park was extremely convenient. We loved our stay here!

This camping site is great because is a short drive to the market plaza. The bathrooms are only open from 6-12:45 (bummer).

Perfect location within 50 steps of restroom . Very spacious site easily handled small camper and 2 tents. No generator noise that I recall. Overall, great 6 days.

Friendly campground staff! Functional, clean, and warm bathrooms (it was 15 degrees when we were there). We were camped right next to the bathrooms which was useful when we were awake but during the night the light on the outside of the bathrooms was a little bright. We also heard anyone who came to the bathrooms during the night. If that bugs you, I'd suggest getting a camp site one or two away from the bathrooms instead. Otherwise, fantastic overnight experience despite the cold -- friend from North Carolina was overjoyed to see the Grand Canyon and take sunrise photos.
