I have been camping here for years as a volunteer and now as a visitor and my experiences have always been good. Rangers at the kiosk were very accommodating even reminding me that seniors get a reduced rate. Campfires were not allowed at the time but that was ok. Did some biking and hiking while there. Some excellent bike paths that connect with the campground. Plan on coming again when the weather warms up.

We had an excellent experience at the Grand Canyon. We spent a few very fun and enjoyable days. We loved the attention at check-in and the services available to us at the Mother Campground. By the way, the nature here is wonderful: the forest, the atmosphere, and the tranquility. Thank you so much for your kindness, and we're already planning our return. Best regards, Antonio and Minerva.

This is a super campground. The site was great, everything worked in the facilities. The staff was most helpful and kind. The bus system is terrific. You hardly ever need to use the car. Highly recommend doing more than taking in the sights from the rim trail. Walk down the trails, need not be all the way to the Tonto Plateau or the even the river, but go down some distance to get a feeling for the immensity of the canyon. A good way to start: Walk 1 mile down the South Kaibab trail to the Ooh-Aah point or an additional 1.5 mile to Cedar Ridge. If you like a challenge, walk down 1 mile the rugged Grand View Trail. Of course, more can be done if you have the time. Altogether, the Grand Canyon is one of the true wonders of the world.

Campsites are awfully close together and close to the road, but they are otherwise perfectly nice and functional. Considering how popular the grand canyon is, I was happy to be able to spend the night so close to it for not a whole heck of a lot of money.

The Mather Campground is superb: The check-in is easy, personnel very helpful to explain everything. The sites are clean, well maintained. The restrooms are clean and in excellent condition. On top, the convenient bus stop at the campground means that one literally never needs to drive with the car during the entire stay.

Spacious campground with private fire place. Bus stop to take you to the trailheads of hikes is conveniently at the entrance of the campground. However, in the winter season there is no place to wash dishes properly which is not very convenient.

Well maintained, pleasant and well located at a short distance from many of the activities around.

There does need to be better access for wheel chairs in the restrooms as there is no ramp!

The site was clean and our neighbors were quite. The bathrooms were warm and clean. A great campsite all around.

Love the campground. Everything works. The nearby bus stop for the blue line makes it unnecessary to drive at all in the park.

Fantastic camp sites. Very clean, and very spacious. An elk walked right through our camp site one day!

This was a great stay and close to the blue bus rail that takes visitors to lots of places. Definitely recommend the market and the south rim walk & bright angel trail.
