Overall, clean and quiet campground. If staying during colder months verify that showers are operational if you are anticipating wanting a shower.

Beautiful Pine forest campground, particularly for vehicles with trailers because of many pull-through sites. We stayed in the last week of October 24 and will be back next year.

We spent 8 days in space 39. Absolutely loved it. Easy access to water and restrooms. We were in a trailer, and experienced a couple of snowy days while there. The campground was very quiet, elk walked through almost daily, and enjoyed the ravens.

I camped in a motorhome, was a very enjoyable experience, easy to navigate the campground, close to the rim trail and shuttle bus stop.

What an amazing spot! We stayed for 3 nights and it was so spacious and quiet. I appreciate the $18/night to stay inside the park. We just walked to the shuttles each morning and the grocery was also within walking distance. Great trees for shade. We will be back!

Really great location in the park. We ended up staying here for three nights instead of just one.Great sights where you feel like part of nature and with a good amount of space between sights.Didn't use the showers, but only two showers had hot water for ladies and I think that is at the low side with plus 100 campsites with no hookups.Wood definitely stay here again!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mather campground. It was very clean and well maintained and although busy it was extremely peaceful. The location is very good being close to the Marketplace and the shuttle bus stops right outside. We were lucky to be close to the showers and laundry facilities which were also busy but very clean. We cycled to Hermits Point and hiked the Bright Angel Trail which we would recommend.

Great campground, very quiet and shady. We stayed 3 nights and were so happy to get a 4th night as a walk-up thanks to the nice person at admin/check-in.Showers good (bring quarters), grey water dump good, fresh water fill up could be betteron the wrong side of our van and our hose did not reach but luckily a kind person with a 25 foot hose offered assistance.We are new to van camping (renting a 19 ft van) and this was our first campground so we were glad to have Mathers welk-organized communications and good amenities.

Arrived after dark to nice camping spot tucked into the woods it felt like. Nice bathrooms close by.

A beautiful campground conveniently walking distance from the rim and park amenities. Our site had a nice mix of sun and shade for sitting around camp, but folks who rely on solar might want to go for a sunnier site. Be prepared for sudden weather changesin March, it was 20 degrees colder than the weather had predicted two days before. It's a high elevation and can get COLD at night; we were expecting lows about 40 and it was 21. There are laundry and shower facilities, which is wonderful, but the hours were pretty limited when we visited (I think it was maybe 8am-3pm?) and the laundromat gets crowded. It may have changed since then, but definitely check hours when you arrive so you don't get a dirty surprise when you've spent all day out in the park, planning on showering after dinner and getting your laundry done while you sit around your fire.

Beautiful Campground. Snow cover grounds (as on 3.9-3.10.2022 time frames)
@AudreyMF70E6DC · Camped on Mar 7, 2022 at Campsite #39
The campground was beautiful and peaceful. Our only complaint is that another person was in our campsite when we arrived because they had parked at the wrong number, so we had to head back to the office and were given a different site.
@PeterS7845234 · Camped on Mar 3, 2022 at Campsite #39
Excellent well maintained campground. No services but those that nature provides. We cut our stay short because on an early season snow storm. It's much more difficult to camp in sub-freezing temperatures!

The site was great but the restricted shower times (having the shower option only in the morning) was not ideal as we would hike all day and want to shower when we were sweaty at night. I’m sure this varies for everyone but it would be nice if there was a pm option.

great place and the host was excellent. when someone mistook my firewood as leftover firewood she replaced it and I was thankful as $10 a bundle of wood and 2 were taken. The rangers were good at the park and Kady helped a great deal. Able to walk to the rim and store is a bonus.
