Mather Campground is a convenient area situated near the marketplace where you can buy food or camping stuff. It also has accessible clean restrooms all over. Our stay is incredibly memorable. Beware of crows though, they steal food even instant noodles. We stayed during winter and the temperature dropped to 18 degrees. I surely do not recommend staying in the tent unless you have a portable heater powered by a battery or without using electrical power as this camp doesn't have electricity.

We had a wonderful stay. Clean, quiet campgrounds!

Good campsite with decent shade. Somewhat close to other campsites, but farther than many other NPS campgrounds I have been to. Less than a minute walk to restrooms and sink for dishwashing. A bit further to fill up water. Lots of Ravens frequent the area for food, saw a few elk there as well.Market Plaza (2-minute drive, ten-minute walk) has any camp supplies one could need. Lots of groceries, beer wine and liquor as well.

Mather Campground checkin was super easy and the person checking me in was very helpful. The campsite was very clean and quiet. Restrooms were clean, however needed repairs on one sink. The campground was close to there visitors center, grocery store and other amenities. One suggestion might be to keep the showers open a couple hours longer. I did have to rush back from hiking to get cleaned up before they closed. I'd definitely stay there again!

Mather's was a great campground, was conveniently located close to the restrooms, which was helpful for a winter weather transition. The bus stop was easy to find during daylight, and I hiked the road back to camp for safety.

Compact spacing but very clean and tidy.

Everything was clean, NPS folks were awesome and MOST of the elk were quite at night, LOL. There was one camp that was probably unaware of when quiet time started but they weren't too bad. Totally enjoyable.

Very helpful rangers, especially regarding scheduling. Planning in advance is still the way to go but if you have the means to camp, don't let worries about crowds dissuade you. All staff and services were wonderful, and the shuttle system was hugely convenient for my aging father.

Beautiful campground with easy access to toilets and showers. Our campsite was back in the big beautiful trees, but we still had a clear view of the night sky!
We had pretty loud neighbors who ignored the 10pm quiet time policy, but that's not the fault of this awesome facility! I would highly recommend staying here and plan to again soon!

Beautiful campground. Easy drive through parking spots at each campsite. Great distancing between campgrounds. Clean facilities. A wonderful place to camp.

One of the best campsites I've been to for sure!
All sites have decent size, and they have good distances between each other.
Most important thing of all, is there are plenty of shades. It's very much needed in AZ!
At night time you can clearly see the stars and the milky way right in the spot.

The only complaint that I have is the shower.
It's $3 for 5 minutes of running water, which doesn't sound so bad. The water gets hot but the pressure is so pathetic that my dog pees stronger than that.

I always have a great experience at Mather. The sites are clean. The bathrooms are clean. I hope the showers open soon!

Beautiful, well kept campground. No cell service.

Quiet with ample space for our tents. Elk wandered through the grounds. Disappointed showers we're not useable.
Overall, a really beautiful experience

The showers being closed for Covid was a real bummer. All the outdoor sinks are off for winter. The only place to get water was the bathroom faucet, with is kind of icke. They have long one way loops that make you have to drive slowly past all the other campers. There was no place to hang a camp light. It snowed and flattened our tents. But all campgrounds are like this so I am not at all disappointed. And the whole place is beautiful, from the trees to the canyon to the fire ring in our campsite. I had a great time.
