There weren't many campers at this time of the year. The bathroom was always clean. Campground was always quiet.

Camping on a weekday in November is pretty much perfect at Mather. The weather was great, it was quiet and my (distant) neighbours were friendly. The elk strolled through each day, too. The ravens were always making their presence known as well. The only downside was that I was informed via email two days prior that the showers wouldn't be working due to water restrictions. Fires weren't permitted, either, due to stage 2 fire restrictions. I've stayed here before during peak season, and it was much too loud. During the summer months, I recommend boondocking off a nearby forest service road. Pine loop is generator-free, too, so it's ideal for tent campers.

I came to this campground and this time was no different. Excellent as always

Spent an enjoyable 3 nights in the Pine Loop, which is a generator free loop. After the Labor Day holiday, the entire campground was blissfully empty. Only complaint was being awakened by trash trucks at 3 am. Shower house was well maintained and cleaned frequently. Grocery store is well stocked and has excellent prices on wine and beer.

The campground was exactly as described. Not too close to other sites, a bit rocky, but a few clear spots to set up tents. The firepit, grate and table on site were in great condition and the park is easy to navigate and walk/drive to the canyon. The facilities for the campground could definitely use some work. One bathroom was left without soap in the women's restroom the entire weekend. Most of the showers were out of service when we tried to use them (In the women's shower there were only 2 in use, 3 out of service, 4 more had a sign up designating thy were "being cleaned"). Plenty of wildlife from elk to ravens. Friendly staff and overall just a great spot to camp near the canyon.

We had a beautiful, large, private campsite, and had the world's friendliest rangers! The site was excellent for tent camping. An excellent Park camping experience!!

Nice campground with decent space between sites and also convenience of being right in Grand Canyon NP and close to the South Rim areas. Would be nice if the shower had more reasonable availability, rather than closing mid-afternoon. Also, when I arrived at my reserved site, someone else was camping there with tents set up already. I assume the Reserved tag wasnt placed there, or that it didnt have the proper last name on it. It worked out as I traded sites with the squatter, who had accidentally set up at the next site over (mine). Otherwise, the campground was clean, restroom was clean and Id stay there again.

Great campsite. There were 3 possible spots for tents. We were able to fit a big 8 person tent. Very close to bathrooms but still felt private.

As with all public campgrounds, your experience depends primarily on who your neighbors are. Mine were great for all 3 nights at Mather CG. Restrooms are heated with flush toilets and potable running water. Litter is kept picked up. Sites are ample with plenty of trees for some privacy. Heed warnings to guard your food unless you just have to be one of *those* people who are a pain for everyone else. The ravens are watching you every minute. Would be nice if the park would add food storage boxes every few sites for non-drivers to use. Ideal location for the canyon. Walking distance from grocery and restaurant (10 minutes) and the rim (15-20).

Convenient campsite with easy access to the trails and real restrooms. Campsites are pretty close quarters, so expect to see and hear those next to yours. I stayed in site #285 which offered a pretty large buffer between the next campsite over.

Due to the size of the campground I was worried it might be crowded and noisy, but it was quite serene. There are elk living in the campground, so if you bring your dog, please have a kennel or other safe place to keep it when there are elk nearby to preserve the safety of the elk and pup and the quiet of the campground! Also, 285 is a sweet spot.

Enjoyed my visit thoroughly especially sitting in the campsite during the day with 5 elk resting beside my site. Very quiet. Nice place to recover from 8 day backpacking trip in canyon. Accessible to everything. Great biking. Site was for one day only by arriving at registration around 9 am that day.

The camping spots were clean, with a lot of trees providing shade (or shelter), and there was sufficient space between each spot. The bathroom was clean and decent (despite no showers were open, due to the lack of available water).

A very pleasant stay in Mathers Campground.General Store,Bank and Post Office in walking distance. Welcome pleasure to have a warm shower and Laundry. 2022 Stage 3 water shortage close early 4PM. Still a great place for vacation.

Small sites but overall very quiet. Mather has to be one of the largest campgrounds I have stayed at but because of the way it is laid out it doesn't seem big. Highly recommend the campground.

Our stay in the Pine loop was peaceful and had everything we needed. We appreciated being able to camp away from the noise of generators. It was an easy walk to the General store and nearby Tavern. Ample hiking and sightseeing opportunities mere minutes away. Highly recommended!

Camping at the Grand Canyon was a near - magical experience. The amenities were good, access to the Village and shuttles was great, and we had the privilege of seeing sunrise, sunset, and all in between at the Canyon.
