Had a wonderful stay at Mather Campground. Wildlife strolling through the camp as we sat in quiet enjoying our morning coffee and evening dinner. Close proximity to the bike path was a great feature for us as we toured the park for 2 days on our bikes. Quiet, peaceful and beautiful.

Beautiful and peaceful RV site, good clean toilets. Excellent, convenient nearby food store and restaurant facilities. Campground very close to south rim loop walk and viewing points.

Wonderful site! We have truck and 23 trailer with a slide. 172 was quiet pull thru and a 3 site walk to the bathroom, would stay again.

Very spacious site for 30ft Class with tow vehicle. Hiking, biking and scenic drives are amazing. El Tovar had excellent food. Crowds not bad in early May

Nice campground close by the visitor centre, thus great place to start your day-trips further into the park. The campsite itself felt quite crowded (it was also fully booked); at other fully booked NPS campsites it didn't feel this crowded. Still we've had a good stay. Would come again.

Mather campground is large but has many wonder sites. We stayed in 172 in a travel trailer. We loved it! Very spacious, with nothing but trees behind it. Elk came through our campsite more than once. The restrooms are not far from this campsite.

Had a great experience in the campground. There was actually someone in our site when we arrived but the Rangers quickly assisted and got them moved. We have 32ft TT and had no issues at this site it was large enough. The road was narrow getting to it but go slow and you wont have problems.

Beautiful campground, rangers were helpful and kind, and it was nice to be right in the park with the shuttle bus stop right by the campground.

We were thrilled to camp at Mather Campground! The site was a perfect pull- through for our camper. We had privacy but a lot of conveniences at the same time. We were close to shopping and the canyon overlooks. We even had visits from a herd of elk! We would definitely recommend Mather Campground!

Beautiful campground with excellent camping sites. Unfortunately, the facilities were poorly maintained/serviced. Specifically, during our four night stay, the restrooms were not cleaned or serviced and the outdoor deep sinks and water spigots throughout the campground were inoperable. Additionally, the water spigots at the dump station were inoperable. There was no water available anywhere in the campground. What would have been a fantastic stay at Mather was made very difficult because of these shortcomings.

Great experience no problem checking in, in the middle of the dark, the next day we found a great first come first serve spot and they were both clean and and had restrooms that were clean and located nearby.

I loved that the bathroom was heated, as it was really cold out. The campsite was clean and the campground was quiet.

Campsite is so convenient to visiting the canyon. When you stay within the village you have easy access to all the attractions and trailheads via the free shuttle. Trailheads and entering the park is busy always. The campsite has a fire ring and picnic table. This site is a pull through best for rvs and trailers but our van was cool too. Site is walking distance to the bathroom and water hook up. Highly recommend.

The campground is not far away from the Grand Canyon. The campsites are mostly flat with enough shadow. Showers are available for 2$.

Great campground perfectly located in the Grand Canyon. The site we reserved was easy to pull our fifth wheel into. There were elk roaming through the campground. It snowed our second morning and it was beautiful.

Mather campground is large but sites are spread out enough so that you can have some privacy. Lots of nice trees in the campground and several pull though sites, although not many sites available for really long rv's.
Excellent

We booked a campsite close to the bathrooms, and they were closed. This forced us to walk about 0.5 miles in freezing temperatures to find the next bathroom. Even at night. Also, bathrooms were extremely dirty in the women section. Used Tampons on the floor, soiled toilets. We went to lots of national parks and this was the worst experience ever.
If there are speed tests submitted for a campground the campsite icons will be colored based on the average download speed and the border will be colored based on the average upload speed.
In this example Campsite #123 has very good download speeds and decent upload speeds. If a campsite has a solid yellow color it means there was no data speed detected in the test(s). Clicking on a campsite icon reveals more details.
