It is a nice campground with good restrooms. This was our first time at Mather but had stayed at Desert view two years ago. Everything went well, but if I was to change anything, it would be the direction signs. I think that we went in circles several times. The shuttle service worked out nicely.

Overall a good stay. Very busy and packed campground. They were able to get us an ADA site even though all were booked (most by non disabled people). Loved the elk and the shade at this campground. You have to drive, catch a shuttle, or hike to see the canyon. I had no idea you can get altitude sickness at this elevation, but I did. Something to consider when booking. It was starting to pass on day 2 before we left.

Nice pitches for tents under the pine trees. Barbecue facilities. Good distance to neighbouring pitches. A few minutes' walk to the free shuttle bus. Shopping facilities available. All facilities clean and well maintained.

With the size of this campground, perhaps you could set aside sites for people who dont want generators or campfires. One campfire is cute, multiple campfires create a smoggy haze over a beautiful forest setting

We stayed two nights in the Juniper loop and one night in Oak loop. The Juniper loop was wonderful with some shade and clean restrooms. The Oak loop offered some shade and older but clean restrooms. The showers were close which was wonderful after a day of hiking!

Had a wonderful experience camping here. Only concerns is that the water spigot/sink at the bathrooms we were at was not in order. A bit of a pain when coming to collect water to wash our dishes.
Other than that, the campsite was roomy, clean and beautiful
