Had a great time. Milky Way straight from the tent. Campsite reservation was super easy and rangers were helpful with finding directions.

Our site was amazing and the staff were wonderful. I wish we could have stayed longer

Bathrooms were very well kept and the grounds were also clean. There was not a lot of dumpster options and the crows here are absolutely relentless so take care to hide your trash overnight. Some of the sites had decent seclusion while others you can clearly hear your neighbors conversing. The hosts were very good about reminding the louder groups about quiet hours which was very appreciated. There are alot of Europeans frequenting this site and as a result we had several wrong way drivers going through the loops at a higher than needed speed. Also Elk are pretty much a guarantee here so take caution with kids and dogs.

The only reason I didn't give a five star rating is because there was no place to set anything down in the bathrooms, not even a hook to hang anything on. No soap in the bathrooms, not even a paper towel to dry your hands.

153 was an amazing site. Site to the left was well far away. Site to the right was vacant but their fire pit was very close. Would have been perfect if ordering 2 sites!

We enjoyed the campground and even saw two elk walking through in the morning!

Simple pickup bed camping before/after a 50 mile trek in the canyon. Made reservations early, but found a somewhat scattered group next door who seemed likely to disturb my Zen. The nice young lady at the check-in was very helpful in changing my spot to a quiet spot in the campground. I had a terrific visit, where I was able to prepare for, and rest after, my backpacking trip. Now, can we find a way to encourage those ever-watchful ravens to move on? :)

The check-in was fine, the site was fine, the 4 inches of blowing snow in the morning was not. We aren't as tough as we used to be I guess. We just left early.
The weather is not the fault (good or bad) of the campground but just a warning to all that Fall camping can become winter camping at any time.

The campgrounds were very nice and well kept!

Make sure to look at the weather for “Grand Canyon Village” rather than “Grand Canyon”; we were not ready for how cold it was going to be.

Make sure to go on a hike; that really puts into perspective just how grand the Canyon is.

There was only one complaint: the showers were unavailable while we were there, possibly due to COVID or the winter season. I remember seeing “Camp Services” was closed. I was unaware that meant showers. For a weekend trip, that’s fine, but not for a weeklong, cross-country road trip... I might have missed that detail, while planning, so make sure you know what’s closed and open at nps.gov.

It would have been helpful to know that no shower facilities would be open during our stay. It was not posted on the website or in our reservation.

We had a great time at Mather Campground. We stayed the first Wednesday & Thursday in March. The bathrooms have flushing toilets and were very clean. Our site was on the Juniper Loop. It was very quiet, peaceful, and spacious. Lots of deer walked right past our campsite in the mornings. The first night we were the only campers at the end of the loop, but the second night we had some loud neighbors that kept us up. I didn't have any phone service at all.
