Awesome experience! Clean, quiet. We had deer that walked right into the campsite. Wildlife everywhere. Convenient location.

Great experience from start to finish. Despite being a huge campground with tons of sites, we actually had a decent amount of space between campsites. I was very pleasantly surprised. Also a short 5 min drive to Mather point, so we were able to cruise over to catch sunrise + sunset easily.

With a view from our campsite of Half Dome what more needs to be said. The campground was also very clean and quite.

Great place, right in Grand canyon. There were laundry and shower facilities that were clean.

I had site 147, it has two neighboring sites but was quiet the whole time although it was Nov. 1. In any event its always been a nice place to stop and has showers to come back to after a week long backpack !

Mather campground is conveniently located within GCNP and is walk/bike/bus friendly so you can get around to most areas within the park with ease without having to drive and park. The campground itself is shaded and has access to good drinking water and the bathrooms are OK. The surface for the pullouts tend to be uneven and very close to the road and there tends to be lots of activity very early in the morning and late at night when we were there in March 2021.
