A beautiful campground with great facilities. Wildlife was everywhere and the skies were beautiful. Everything you could ask for.

Great pull through spots, bathroom close, nice fire pits, very busy.

While the campground is very crowded it was still a pleasant stay. What is missing is dumpsters. We carried our trash to the entrance of the campground. Also the showers we had to use were simply disgusting. We dont mind paying for a shower but when the floor is full of hair and funny stuff from the previous users, that is outright terrible. Maybe someone in charge of the campground should go and have a shower to see it. Location of the campground was great and we walked everywhere from there. Also location for the general store was appreciated as one easily runs out of something. All in all a bit less in top of each other would be great but I guess that is how funds are raised. Thanks for being there to allow us see this wonder of nature

We spent three nights at the campsite with our campervan. It's a great place, quiet and the necessary facilities are well maintained.

Great campground. The sites were well maintained and well spaced, the bathrooms were clean and the setting was great. Having the bike trails and shuttle stop close by was very handy.

we needed a place to stay near the Grand Canyon and were lucky enough to get one in the Mather campground. The campground is in the village of the South Rim of the GRand Canyon. Beautiful campground, spacious sites, clean restrooms, great location at a very afrodable price. Recommendations for improvemments : 1. display the campsite map at the reception for those travelling witout data and arriving late. 2. extend shower hours

Please do not visit Mather campground because I want to have a space available the next time I visit such a wonderful place. We saw deer and Elk, had a great spot, enjoyed a few camp fires easily got in and out of the dump area and were close to the village. All things considered … Mather is excellent. Enjoy your stay, we did.

Campground was fine! Very conveniently located, felt safe, bathrooms were clean (though the hand dryers were loud!!) and folks were friendly. Don’t skip sunset on the rim!

We stayed inside the Grand Canyon national park so we could avoid the entrance line and get an early start on hiking and exploring for the day. The campsite was nice, we had one with fewer trees so we were able to enjoy the warm sun during a chilly week. We had elk at there to greet us upon arrival. The Grand Canyon is a must see for all, glad we made it our spring break trip this year.
We hiked Kaibab Trail to Cedar Ridge. It is about a 3 mile round trip hike. The views from all angels were just beautiful. If you are going to do one hike and don't want something too rigorous I suggest this one. Cedar Ridge has a large area where hikers can spread out and take a break. We spent about 30 minutes there enjoying some snacks and the 360 degree views before heading back up.
The second hike we did was Bright Angel Trail to Plateau Point. This one was about a 12 mile round trip hike. Again, the view were amazing and surreal. For the first 3.5 miles down you are going straight down, so a lot of 'walking down stairs'. The last 1.5 mile is pretty flat with some hilly areas. The hike up was pretty rigorous and would only suggest doing in a day during the colder months. Bring lots of snacks and water. We hiked in March and I believe the only place we could fill up our water bottles was at mile 4.5 - the Indian Garden. There are 2 places, 1.5 and 3.0 mile markers, that have water, but I don't think it was on yet.
The last hiking we did was strolling along the rim to take in the view from the top.
