I had a wonderful stay at Mather Campground during my visit to the Grand Canyon in November. The rangers at check in were extremely helpful getting a level site for me, as I was traveling without levelers and not all sites there are level. The site where I set up was quiet with a lovely view of the woods. Bathrooms were clean and warm and easy to get to. It was exciting to see the elk coming through the campgrounds. Mather is walking distance to the bus, the market place, visitor center and on a bike trail. There are no electrical hookups at Mather and generator use is restricted so the campground is quiet and dark. Good for stargazing.

We absolutely loved this campground. It was beautiful, quiet, clean bathrooms and great paths to walk or ride around.

While the bathrooms seemed clean, they did not have hand soap.

Also, I would like to see the electric hand dryers removed. They're too loud.

Camp sites have decent space.

Ranger was cool.

I had a “camper” next to me who spent all his time in his camper with his generator running the maximum allowable time. It would be nice if the generator crowd could all be grouped together somehow. Meanwhile the campsite and the bathroom were clean. I had the site reserved for 5 nights and left after after 2. Will never return and put myself in that position again.

Great place.Good campground. My only complaint is that people are not complying with the quiet hours.

Great overall experience. The restrooms could be attended to a bit more often but as is they were way better than expected. It was quiet, dark at night for star gazing and clean. The rangers were friendly and willing to answer questions. On top of that it was great to see other campers were also very friendly and helpful if you need a hand with anything. Truly good old fashioned Americana. We’ll be back for certain.
