Campground and facilities are amazing, staff is exceptional, and the park is magical. I will return many times.

Beautiful camping experience. We saw elk and mule deer wander through during our stay. Bathrooms were clean. (The bathroom also had a couple of electric outlets. I was able to heat a small water kettle for our coffee in the mornings). Also had a dishwashing sink. The stakes for our tent were really hard to get in. We ended up tying the rain fly to rocks- but it is a canyon, so Im sure thats expected.

First time campers, didn't know what to expect. This campground blew me away! Large campsites, provide plenty of privacy & room for all your equipment. Clean, convenient restrooms. Showers & laundry facilities available. Most conveniences are either a short drive or if you're up to it, within hiking distance. Would definitely recommend this campground!

It's a beautiful campground and I was thrilled to camp so close to the Grand Canyon, but my presence was marred by the presence of dangerous ice throughout the campground. I'm Canadian, so I have some experience with ice; however, there was so much ice on the roads and near the rest rooms that I didn't feel safe leaving my campsite at night. I was shocked by the complete failure to treat the ice with salt!

I've stayed at Mather Campground before. It's great! Unless you're rich, be sure you bring in firewood from outside the park. Foraging isn't allowed in the park and the nearby grocery sells a meager bundle for $7.50.

Beautiful scenery, clean bathrooms, close walk to many services (grocery store, showers, the grand canyon, etc.)

Lots of crying babies over night, but what can you do.

We loved our site. Very close to the bathrooms, not too loud, and the rangers were so very nice. Would definitely recommend.

Nice well laid out campsites for car camping. Easy access to bathrooms. It was reasonably quiet through the night which was nice.

Great location! Very clean campground with large campsites. It is great to be able to take the bus and to be able to walk to the marketplace general store.

Everybody was quiet and nice. The place was very calming. The rangers working the reservations were very nice and enjoyable to talk to.
The National Park system overbuilt the south rim and did a very good job of doing it. I always thought that the south rim was a zoo, but it wasn't. I loved it. I normally camp and hike in the canyon, yet I had a great time on the south rim. It was a surprise.

304 great campsite. Just ridiculous the shower facilities were still closed last week. Glad to see reopening this week.

Fairly dense campsites along with a few pull-thru sites for fifth-wheels. These sites get a lot of use so the areas for pitching tents are somewhat compacted - use an air mattress, etc. All sites have fire rings and picnic benches with plenty of trees . Overall a pleasant place to sleep and relax after sightseeing and picture taking. Visitor Center is still closed :(
