Elk. Elk right there. The campgrounds were clean and well maintained. The trees were beautiful. The staff were friendly and helpful. Its a good campground. If youre looking for glamping, then this is not the campground for you, but if you want a solid campground Mathers is lovely.

Its a really beatiful campround, we even prolonged our stay for 1 night. The only problem is that the showers and laundry are getting closed very early, like at 3:45 pm.

BEAUTIFUL campground. Extremely clean. Nice newly paved roads. Honestly felt like a Disney world campground. Nearby market has anything you would need including a very nice gift shop. Someone said there is even a Starbucks at the lodge? Only complaint is that the dump station only has one bay and the fresh water is on the opposite side. Every camper in line had their water fill inlet on the driver's side of the vehicle, and the water here is on the passenger side. Just be sure you have a long hose.

This is a beautifully laid out and maintained campground! So much nature: deer, elk, ravens to name a few. Its a quiet oasis and convenient to walk to the shuttle.

We love the Grand Canyon, whether it's North Rim, South Rim or backcountry. Mather Campground and its Ranger Staff is one of the best. Most sites are spacious and partially secluded by vegetation. Water and restrooms are conveniently located. The campground is only a short walk from most amenities, such as the Village Market Plaza and shuttle bus stop. Also, it's less than a 10 minute walk to the Rim. Only critic is stat the restrooms could have used a bit more cleaning but not that bad for a campground hosting hundreds of visitors daily.
