Just an awsome space, little uneven so we had to level the RV out

Elk. Elk right there. The campgrounds were clean and well maintained. The trees were beautiful. The staff were friendly and helpful. Its a good campground. If youre looking for glamping, then this is not the campground for you, but if you want a solid campground Mathers is lovely.

Its a really beatiful campround, we even prolonged our stay for 1 night. The only problem is that the showers and laundry are getting closed very early, like at 3:45 pm.

BEAUTIFUL campground. Extremely clean. Nice newly paved roads. Honestly felt like a Disney world campground. Nearby market has anything you would need including a very nice gift shop. Someone said there is even a Starbucks at the lodge? Only complaint is that the dump station only has one bay and the fresh water is on the opposite side. Every camper in line had their water fill inlet on the driver's side of the vehicle, and the water here is on the passenger side. Just be sure you have a long hose.

This is a beautifully laid out and maintained campground! So much nature: deer, elk, ravens to name a few. Its a quiet oasis and convenient to walk to the shuttle.

We love the Grand Canyon, whether it's North Rim, South Rim or backcountry. Mather Campground and its Ranger Staff is one of the best. Most sites are spacious and partially secluded by vegetation. Water and restrooms are conveniently located. The campground is only a short walk from most amenities, such as the Village Market Plaza and shuttle bus stop. Also, it's less than a 10 minute walk to the Rim. Only critic is stat the restrooms could have used a bit more cleaning but not that bad for a campground hosting hundreds of visitors daily.

Mather campground located very good within the Grand Canyon South rim area. Staff at registration, shuttle busses and shops were very friendly and helpful. Time too wait for a shuttle could have been a bit better and electricity would be a big plus, but for the $18 it was absolutely perfect.

The campground was fine, clean, entrance station was fast. Pavement has been improved since last time I was there. Restroom across from Fir loop, needs cleaning more often.

Nice pull through RV sites. Enjoyed a camp fire and saw elk in our site. Short walk to catch the shuttle buses to explore the canyon. 5 star.

Great campsite! Very close proximity to showers and laundry as well as to the supermarket and Yavapai Lodge where you can grab a drink / some hot food. Campsite was clean and had a fire ring and picnic table. Toilets was close by, clean and well maintained. Area was quiet during the evenings. Careful with the food as there are a number of ravens in the area searching for food.

Each campsite within Mather campground provides a great amount of privacy and space while being able to enjoy the camping community. Amenities were very clean and nearby each campsite. The shuttle system could not have been easier!

We came and spent 3 nights in Mathers (spot 103 Juniper loop) and we had the best time! Beautiful park. Clean facilities. We will be back! Thank you to all the very helpful Rangers / staff.Tom & Jamie

A wonderful alternative to camping outside the park and driving in every day. Great facilities, showers, laundry, great campsites, all the rangers were helpful and courteous. The only reason I didn't stay longer was the overnight temps dropping. I'll definitely stay here again.

Great time of year to visit Grand Canyon. Crowds were way down. The shuttle was great in being able to get to various places that we wanted to see.

This was my first experience camping in a National Park. Being it was late October, the campground was nice and quiet, with cool weather. The restroom facilities were clean. I would definitely recommend this campground.

Hang out in camp and wait for animals (deer and elk) to come to you, but give them plenty of space. Hike the rim in places away from the Village and Visitor Center so it's not crowded and hike in the morning. Get to the entrance by mid-morning or sooner to avoid long wait times. Get all the maps and information and a pass online. As they say, "Know before you go!".Well, it's easy for me to say, since I have been visiting for almost sixty years and now live only 130 miles away.

Each campsite was beautiful. Loved that you could walk to the Village, the Visitors Center & the grocery store. Great to see some wildlife still roams close by & in view. Bring firewood as what you buy there is expensive.

Great campsite with clean restrooms, plenty of tent space options on each site, and easy-to-navigate area. The staff we interacted with were helpful and friendly. Plus the proximity to everything at the Grand Canyon was great - super close to the market and some lookout points. I will definitely stay here again when we come back to the Grand Canyon!

I always enjoy camping at Mather. Lots of trees for hanging hammocks, clean restrooms, a short walk to the market, and a nice 1.5 mile walk to the village. Just be sure to keep your food in a vehicle when you’re not physically at the site because the ravens will help themselves and make a mess while doing so.

Great site full of facilities! Camping here is so easy, you don't need to be experienced at all. Marketplace within walking distance with all the items you forgot or didn't bring enough of. Flush toilets and potable water at every loop. Rangers were super nice and each loop has a camp host. Reserve early!
