Nice campground, close to the rim, store and Kolb Studio, which I was interested in seeing. Quiet hours were respected. Loud before 10 p.m. but in the excited way a young group gets, not obnoxious drunks, etc. Plenty of room for tent and car, easy to follow roads. Very pleasant.

Excellent experience. Tent site, no hook ups, was clean and level. Convenient to facilities. Bonus - weather was absolutely perfect. Enjoyed day hikes and riding our bikes from the campground, via paved bike bath, to Tusayan village for lunch one day.

Finding a spot in the campground that you are not surrounded be Campers with their generators running will make your life more quiet.

Mather is so reliable in its excellence on every level. Campsites are nice, not too close together and a short walk to Yavapai Lodge and grocery store. The elk are beautiful and its a pleasure to share their home. If its your first time at Mather be super aware of respecting park rules, Ranger advice and campground etiquette. Quiet hours are respected as there are many folks heading out for an early start for hiking below the rim.

Great campsite. Very well kept, clean bathrooms, and the elk walking around is the cherry on top!

Campsite #118 was next to the bathrooms - fine for me, but perhaps some would not like that. The little Camper Services store/deli was closed, but the showers and laundry was open. Phone reception not good at campsites due to tree cover, but pretty decent reception in any open area. No parking available, so I walked everywhere, as the wait for shuttles was excessive due to crowds. Rangers are helpful, most campers have good camp etiquette, but too many campers were washing dishes and dumping food scraps down the bathroom sinks and at the potable water faucets. The outdoor utility sink faucets are removed until any chance of frost is gone, and campers should transport water to their campsites to wash dishes.

Staff was very friendly. Check in was easy. Restrooms were clean and staff checked them twice a day at least. Would stay again.

We tent camped in mid-October and the campground was fairly quiet. It was dark around 6:30 at night and things were pretty calm after it got dark. We were near the bathrooms and that was about the only light around so bring a flashlight or head lamp with you. The stars were really bright and beautiful. Our tent site was level and only a few feet from our car and the picnic table. The only disappointment was that the showers were only open until 4pm so we had to cut our hiking short to get a shower.
The campground was great! Very clean. Campsites are a little bit on the crowded side. However I know they need the quantity. I would definitely recommend!
Beautiful area, we even had elk walk through our campsite! Loved the canyons and bus service which made moving around so easy. My only concern is that the tent campsites are very tightly packed in fortunately, all of our neighbors were respectful and quiet. Beware of the mischievous Ravens and Squirrels ;)
Everything was amazing. Sights are a little small. Wild life everywhere you look. Bathrooms were very clean. All in all I would give it 99% !!πππππ

Loved our stay at the campground, the location canβt be beat, pretty much everything in the park is walking distance away or accessible but shuttle. Tent spot was shaded and we had plenty of space

Mather Campground is always a nice place to camp. Some inconvenience this time that the village shuttle buses werenβt running because of COVID.
