Great campground!! The spaces aren't too close together, the facilities are well maintained and close by, and the little parking divits next to each campsite make unpacking really convenient. REMINDER: it's super important to keep all food items secure from the Ravens; those things are smart and relentless.

Easy and quick check-in. Clean site and grounds. Warm bathroom but cold water. Only complaint is I wish we knew ahead of time that our site (#286) didnt have a pull in parking spot like most sites. Would definitely come back though!

Great location, shaded, and quiet campground. Bathrooms are clean. There's a shower/laundry facility nearby with clean restrooms. Campground is 5 min drive to Mather Point and visitor center.

This was my first solo camping trip. It was an amazing experience. I thoroughly enjoyed the campground. The roads were all very well maintained in the area. The campsites were amazing. Very peaceful, great open space between the trees to look at the stars. I cant wait to come back with family/friends. Very short drive to the views pots and hiking trails. Highly recommend.

Made a walk up reservation. The sites on Pine Loop in Mather Campground are NOT clear to a sufficient height to allow RVs to access them. It was difficult to find a site with enough overhead clearance from tree branches to avoid damage to my unit. Please clear branches to a minimum if 13 FEET.

We had an amazing experience camping at Mather Campground in the Grand Canyon. We generally prefer quieter and less congested places, however the location is good, if busyits just minutes from the South Rim and offers easy access to some of the best hiking trails and viewpoints. The campsite was clean, spacious, and well-maintained, providing the perfect mix of privacy and natural beauty. We loved seeing wildlife, like elk, wandering through the campground, and the starry night skies were breathtaking. The facilities were excellent, with clean restrooms and potable water nearby. Plus, the rangers were friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome. Overall, Mather Campground is a fantastic spot to enjoy the beauty of the Grand Canyon.

We enjoyed our stay at Mather campground, but only stayed one night. We didn't actually see the campground in the light as we arrived after sunset and left before sunrise! We were unable to use the showers as they were already closed for the evening when we arrived. I had planned to walk from the campground to the canyon rim for sunrise, but we decided it would be easier to pack up and drive to the main car parks. From there we walked along to a good spot for sunrise, which was much easier.

Peaceful and quiet campground. Saw elk right in the camp. We used the shuttle and also walked or drove to our destinations. It was easy to get around. Enjoyed eating nearby at the Yavapai Tavern. Showers were $2.50 for five minutes. We hiked to oohahh point on the south Kaibab trail- highly recommend if you are physically able. We rented bikes at bright angel and paid for a shuttle to take us to a good starting point then biked to hermits rest and we all loved it- mom and dad and three kids ages 10,15,18. Such a beautiful ride along the rim of the canyon with little traffic and few people. I think Hopi Point was my favorite viewpoint. But its good to see as many as you can!

Great layout, easy access to super clean and perfectly working bathrooms. The bus stop at our campground was easy to access as well. Security and grounds keepers were very cheerful and I enjoyed chatting with them. This National Park is huge AND well run in my opinion. It was a great experience!

Fabulous winter camping spot! Shuttles are great when you don't want to hike, and the hiking is really great when you want to!

While we were hit with a snow storm, the campground was clean, and the site was well kept. The only issue is that the mens bathroom was having some plumbing issues, which have hopefully been resolved since then. There was another bathroom close by, so this was a minor issue. The park kept the roads clear of snow and even came through the campground to plow the loops.

The campsites are big and the bathrooms are nice and clean. Watch out for the Ravens, they will take things from your campsite that are not food. Dont leave anything out for them to take...never saw the roll of paper towels again.

Amazing Grand Canyon experience and 2 nights of camping. After experiencing an amazing sunset near Mather Point, I determined to hike down to the river the following day (I am an ultra runner), the hike back up was brutal, but I made it by mid afternoon. Loved our 2 days there.

Great trip. The camp grounds were clean and friendly staff. The site had everything you need to enjoy camping, a table and a fire ring.

It's a real privilege to camp on the South Rim, great facilities and fair price. Beautiful campground if a little crowded at times. Be prepared to be woken well before dawn by fellow campers on the way to the trails.
