Campground in the heart of the national park. Big space for your tent, a paved spot for your car and a picnictable. The elk and deer come right onto the campground.

The experience was great until the second night when an individual showed up and occupied spot 261. He was playing loud music and apparently under the influence of drugs. I reported the behavior to the folks at the registration office, but the individual was allowed to continue to stay. That was totally disappointing as I was about to get on the road the night prior with my kid after 10:00 pm due to this individual’s behavior. Families definitely shouldn’t have to feel threatened by behaviors as such.
Thanks.

Camp site was well kept, easy to access and check in, and pretty quiet… until a group of sorority girls showed up last minute and partied behind me. Couldn’t help but laugh. Bathrooms were clean and the campsite is so close to the rim. Perfect place to camp.

Campground and restroom were very good. Neighboring campers on the other hand, who sent huge smoke clouds into our camp for hours and the German shepherd vs black lab barking wars all night were downers.

We had a great time. Bathrooms were clean.
The only issue we had was the tree work that was going on. They blocked the roads out of the loop, and the noise. Other than that, everything was great!

Easy check in and the people in the area I camped were respectful of others. It's a major camping area so one cannot expect much solitude, but the campground serves its purpose. Due to Covid showers were not available. That was a big minus, but that's the way it is.
