Check in staff was excellent especially considering all of the issues with the broken water main which added an extra burden to all park employees. Laura (I really apologize as I hope this is her name...) was absolutely amazing and worked with everyone to ensure that they had the best site possible for same-day walk ins. She really made everyone feel like they were being taken care of...because she did take care of us!

We love Mather Campground. We stayed on the Oak loop. Nice clean bathrooms. Bike trails from the campground to the village and visitor center. Shuttle stop near the campground. Elk meander through the campground each day. We stayed in a shady pull-through site.

The campsites were very clean and easy to access and the staff was very helpful. The bathrooms were a bit outdated and in need of some repair. The sanitation station was in poor shape with no non-potable water near the only drain hole to flush your black tank.

Mather CG was in good shape, but not entirely open as far as services go. If you have a camper or trailer, be mindful of the length restrictions they put on their sites. They are REALLY tight!. Upon arrival we had an elk in our campsite (AWESOME!). At departure we had 15 more, just down the hill. The only thing holding back this rating is the limited services - due to a slower than normal COVID reopening. No showers and limited bus routes was a big detractor.

Love the National Park campgrounds. We will always appreciate loops that offer no generators and also appreciate limited generator hours, especially none in the morning before 9 and after 5 or so in the evening so as to enjoy the ambience of the park. Thanks!

The campground is generally nice and close to the rim of the canyon. The campground is clean and the sites are spread out. The huge issue is the lack of enforcing the rules by the camp hosts. A generator ran all day and until midnight. Totally unacceptable.
