We had a great time at Mather Campground! It is located centrally in the park and a few minutes drive from several key spots. The sites were clean and well-maintained. There are several bathrooms, water stations, showers, and laundry services on site.*Note: Some sites are closer to the main road, and you can hear traffic from them.

Check in was quick and easy. Camping spot roads were marked so it was easy to find our campgrounds. The people that reserved 216 set up in our 214 spot because it was nice and flat and they thought it was 216 No trashcans near campgrounds so you have to store your trash in your cars and haul it out when you leave. Bathrooms were clean as could be with snow falling one night and rain the next night. Nice and quiet besides RV drivers and generators. Didnt have time to use the showers, they run on quarters and are open from 7am-9pm. For the price, location, and services this was a great place to stay!

Great site and location. Clean. Showers unavailable due to water restriction but showers were available to use in nearby Tusayan for a small fee.

New asphalt on the road and spots, no one because of the snow, super nice welcome from rangers. This is so good to have a check-in station that can update reservations pretty quickly and assign you a spot that was initially booked, but canceled a few hours before. This is so adaptative!Showers were super hot, and everything was in a close range thanks to the buses lines. We did not take the car the whole journey there! (we sleep in our van, not moving it allow us to not touch our 'sleeping setting').Fall, and more precisely end of the season is definitely the greatest period to go to the Grand Canyon. It was awesome, thanks!

Given directions to use showers and the next day they were closed.... inconvenienced but oh well. The pull through space had my door facing the road. Overall a place to sleep while enjoying the beautiful grand canyon!!!!

The campground was relatively quiet. Nice restrooms, water was close. Showers were good. Our site had a small ledge next to the asphalt that cause my wife to fall. She was OK, but sore for a couple days.

It really is a great campground. There is one way road to the campground. For our particular use, it would have meant the door opened to the road instead of to the campsite. So we had to do some extra maneuvering, which then caused some other challenges..

When we arrived, our place was already occupied by other people who came to the park without booking. They burned a fire and used our places.

Had a great experience here. Nice spacious site and well, there wasn't many people there which helped. Saw lots of elk walking around too. Are spot had some shade, but not fully shaded depending on the day. Would stay here again if in the area.

There are almost no bad campsites in Mather Campground, We have stayed twice this year and had a wonderful time both stays. It is so close to the market, the visitor center, even the village. The walking path that winds through the campground and leads you to different locations is wonderful to run on which I did every morning while we were there. I highly recommend taking the shuttle to Hermits Rest and hiking part or all of the way back too Bright Angel Lodge itโ€™s a beautiful, relatively easy hike.
