We had the best time at the Grand Canyon, Mather Campground. Lovely location with lots of trees and central to everything. The other campers were close but everyone was very conscientious and courteous. Bathrooms were clean and had a sink for washing dishes as well as a source for drinking water. Gray and blackwater dumping points were close by as were the paid showers. The rangers were great and It was just a pleasant experience all around. What topped it off for me were the elk roaming freely through the campgrounds. Just added a bit more to an incredibly memorable time.

Great campground, close to the canyon. Coin-operated showers ($2.50 for 5 min.) are nice to have available, although a bit tight on space and not the cleanest. Coin-operated laundry is a nice amenity also. Campground itself is clean and well maintained.

Campground was exactly as expected. We had a great time cooking with a cast iron over the fire with snow all around.

We loved all the hiking we were able to do and when it rained we drove out to Desert View Tower and enjoyed the clouds rolling over the edges of the Canyon. The shuttle buses took us to wonderful view spots and we hiked the rim over 3 days, getting back on the shuttle when we were tired.

Omg so sometimes they hold back campground spots for people that just show up. We were on this 5k mile trip seeing all of the western US parks and we didnt know when wed show up at ANY park so I was able to make a reservation for the following night online but not one for the current day. When we got there not only did a Ranger find an awesome spot for us but modified our reservation for the next day so we didnt have to move spots!!!! If youve ever spent weeks tearing down and putting up a tent every day, rarely staying anywhere for two days youd understand how glorious that was!! Restrooms were super clean, it was pretty quiet and during quiet hours it was very quiet. We stayed in the Juniper loop and even put up our hammocks! NP Rangers are the absolute bomb.

If camping in early March be prepared for snow on the ground and freezing temps. I was expecting very cold weather, but not so much snow on the campsite.

Huge campground with rather little space between sites, and the sites are not big as well.
But the campground is in the Grand Canyon National Park, and it's a short walk to the Canyon.
Clean bathrooms, flush toilets, soap. Showers are somewhere near the entrance (didn't use them).

Had an amazing night in the Grand Canyon. The campsites are clean and easy to access. Can't wait to get back there soon!
