We loved this campground. It is right in the heart of the Grand Canyon with lots to see and do. The Elk walked right through the campground and that was cool to see. The showers were a bit of a hike away and reasonable at $2.50 for 5 minutes with plenty of stalls. We also loved the market and accessibility to all the trails via shuttle bus. We hiked the rim trail and was able to catch the bus back to our van. Would definitely recommend this campground.

Our stay at mother campground was really nice. All the essential amenities were very accessible. We enjoyed cooking and hanging out by the fire after a day hiking in the canyon. Communication with the staff was easy.

Great place overall, esp to experience Grand Canyon as the rim is in walking distance showers hot, sites nice and with a little privacy..

Mather Campground has so many sites, yet Juniper Loop where we camped had wooded and spacious sites providing privacy which was so nice. It is a drive to the shuttle and anywhere you’re going in the park from there, but it’s well worth it. The campground bathroom was dirty and the showers weren’t great, but served the purpose. We’re hoping to visit the North Rim next time.

The best (first) experience I’ve had camping thus far! The whole experience of visiting The Grand Canyon for the first time was just amazing and easy to get around thanks to the free shuttles they have provided for visitors.

I was surprised that the showers and laundry had such limited hours. The roads in the campground sure could use some attention.

Driveway in our site 1/3 missing, broken away, bad pavement thru campground. The heavy use at this campground has taken its toll. Litter scattered thru brush between campsites. I'm guessing not maintained with anyone.

Campsite was open and reserved with our name on it- this is one of my phobias is that someone else will be squatting in our reserved campsite. Firepit was clean, camp was clean. We were happy with the vibe of the campground which was pretty quiet and there were plenty of trees to keep the nature vibe among many campers. Elk bugled in the night a couple nights and occasionally wandered through as well. We would definitely stay here again.

The campground is amazing. Everything was great except the showers.

Very surprised that the camp ground in general was super clean. The bathrooms were so well maintained. Most of the scenic view sites were close to camp so that was awesome. Can’t wait to go back! Showers were available from 6am-1pm.

Beautiful campground sites, friendly ranger checkin, clean bathrooms and fresh drinking water -- all within minutes of the Grand Canyon! One of my favorite campgrounds for sure!

Our campsite was so beautiful. Everything was near enough that even with just a day and a half we were able to enjoy so many activities! Our favorites were hiking the Bright Angel Trail and exploring on the paved Rim Trail.
