Short way to Shuttlebus. Dumpstation was chaotic.

Very nice campground. Shuttle bus system is great. Nice hikes. We stayed 2 nights and this is enough. We also booked a trip with a helicopter which was great. We have seen both sides south and north rim.

Bathrooms were kept clean and rangers were very fair with people in line for the "first come, first serve" available campsites.

Beautiful wooded campground with large sites and nice paved roads. Pay showers at the office. Toilets throughout the grounds. The roads are a bit tight for larger RVs, but doable. Would have liked to have stayed here longer but we were on a large multi-stop trip. We cooked a nice stew over the campfire and really enjoyed our time here.

Great campground in middle of South Rim. Only drawback is the lack of direct sun (mostly shady spots) to charge solar batteries. Nice bathrooms and large sites with fire rings and tables. So many things to do, we stayed a week and could have stayed longer

Doesn't get any better than staying inside a national park. Great campground that was clean and quiet.

a little tight for our 28’ 5th wheel. Overhead did not always work. But good overall.

I liked being this close to the canyon. I wish there were more space between camp sites, but I understand the reason.

The sites are well-constructed, but the infrastructure is lacking. A National Park of this renown should have comparable facilities. The bathrooms were in disrepair and dirty and there are no good dishwashing facilities, but our chief complaint is that shower facilities were only available from 6 AM to 1 PM! This is totally unacceptable, since many guests travel to Grand Canyon to take advantage of its rugged hiking opportunities. We returned from a 3-day rafting trip after exiting the canyon by hiking up and out on the Bright Angel Trail at temperatures of over 100+ degrees, arriving back at our site at 2:15 PM, only to find showers for the entire Mather Campground closed! We were forced to quickly cleanse ourselves in a water spigot at the dump station while being concerned that Security would instruct us to leave. Surely, for the amount of funds collected for the park, the National Park Service SHOULD DO BETTER.
