The campground is clean and quiet. The environment is beautiful. Close to the general store and Mather point. The only thing need to be aware is when you chose the rocky site. Its a lot rock mix with the ground. And it kind difficult to stick stakes in the ground. Overall, I recommend this campground.

My father and I stayed at the campsite for 2 nights. The campground is centrally located in Grand Canyon Village and free shuttle service was available. The campground is huge, so I wouldn't recommend walking from your campsite, especially if you want to try out a strenuous hike like Bright Angel Trailhead. We hiked down to Plateau Point and back up to the starting point in 5.5 hours, granted that we hauled ass and only rested at the plateau. The descent was fairly slow due to crystallized snow, but the climb back up wasn't as daunting as we thought. Sure the drop in elevation is significant between the rim and Plateau Point, but the climb back up isn't very steep at all. Highly recommend.

Loved our stay! The campsites arent super private but theres more than enough space between them that it doesnt matter too much, and everyone we talked to was super nice anyways! Loved it.

We arrived late in the evening and reserved our camp spot ahead of time at www.recreation.gov Thank you so much for tagging our spot ahead of time so that no one else would take it. The bathrooms were clean and visible with soap dispensers that were full. Thank you! See you next year!Susie Lloyd, Durango, CO

Make sure to tell everyone that you don’t have the showers up and running. Really sucked driving a few hours expecting to be able to take a shower after and then you can’t.
