What a beautiful camp ground, we arrived without a reservation in the middle of March. They have available spots on the. window at the check in after hours. We grab a site and spent 3 nights here. It's a camp ground, its clean, organized and clean bathrooms. It is so convent to the Grand Canyon. The staff are amazing and extremely helpful. I will definitely be back., I have a class B and the spot was flat to park on, there was a picnic table and a fire pit.

The rangers were amazing and super helpful with any questions we had. The camp site itself was very clean and all our neighbor sites were super quiet. There are showers (10 quarters for 5 min), laundry, bathrooms and a grocery store that has the camping equipment you forgot. We were dry camping with camper vans so we did not use hook ups but the line to empty gray water was super long so we opted to wait to empty it until we got to our next destination. Absolutely recommend staying here. We did not reserve a spot so we showed up 30 minutes before the ranger station opened and we were able to stay in the same spot all week.

We understand this is not easy in cold weather but think there should be a way to fill personal water bottles in the campground, in multiple locations. Also, care needs to be taken to trim tree branches that are likely to be hit by truck camper rigs (which can be quite high - 13' or thereabouts, and about a foot wider than a pickup truck is wide). Our unit was damaged, it was not possible to avoid the branches and we did not bring a pole saw. The bathrooms were generally clean, though a bit muddy, & heated & lighted adequately, and the camp was clean and quiet. Night skies were great! Signage for walking and bicycle trails were poor, & it was difficult to find many places. The cafeteria and market deli food were good and well prepared & affordable. The Market was well stocked and produce and meat sections were good. Food was not overpriced. The snow blowers and plows were certainly appreciated!

Mather Campground is beautiful! My husband and I had a wonderful time camping in our tent at Mather. It is well kept, and even though our loop in the campground was full and busy, we had plenty of privacy at our campsite in the trees, and it was peaceful and quiet. The bathroom was kept clean and well stocked. We saw several elk walking through the campground, as well as a large, beautiful deer buck. Not to mention cute little songbirds. We won't talk about the relentless, raucous, ravenous ravens! Just don't forget to put your trash in the appropriate dumpster before you so much as turn your back, or you will have to do like we did and pick up lots of little bits of paper and debris from all over your campsite! One of the things we enjoyed the most was walking to the campground bus stop and hopping on the shuttle bus. That bus service is wonderful! We caught the bus at the campground, and from there, rode the blue shuttle to whichever transfer point we wanted, and were able to leave our truck parked at the campground and still see everything we wanted to see, from Hermit's Rest at the west end of the park to Desert View Watchtower at the east end. Every employee we met at the park, in the campground, on the busses, and in the Visitor Centers was great! They were all very helpful and friendly..... well there was one exception at one of the gift shops, but we will give her a break and chalk her surly mood up to the fact that the shop was extremely busy and some patrons a few minutes before us gave her a hard time. She was getting better by the time we left! Anyway, we had a great time, and this wonderful campground played a huge part in that! Thank you so much for all your hard work in making Mather Campground a place we hope to return to in the future!

Had a nice spot under the trees, also the rangers have been polite and helpful.Negative where expensive showers of you think about the price only for staying at a small place without anything else beside toilets and the Bad description with roadsigns within the Camp Area. These should take a look at Bryce Canyon to see how that is done in a good was

The design of the campground into the park was awesome, the shuttle bus right next to the campground was great, everything is so close together and easily accessible. 10/10!

Being so close to the rim of the Grand Canyon was a joy for us. Being close to shopping and the shuttle busses was great. The problem was with the campground ADA site I was in. The fire pit had huge rocks (for seating) on one side of the fire ring. I live in a wheelchair so my area at the fire ring was severely limited. There were areas that were deep loose dirt and rocks which cause me to get stuck twice and required assistance from family to move out of it. The bathroom toilet was raised so high that I could not comfortably use it and had to have my wife go to the women's bathroom with me so I could use their toilet. Being late October, this was not a huge problem as there were fewer other campers to contend with. I am grateful however to have had the opportunity to stay 4 nights at Mather Campground.

What a wonderful campsite. Loved staying there. My family and I arrived in our RV and stayed at Trailer Village a few days because of the hookups. I wished we stayed at Mather instead (even without hookups). It was more beautiful, peaceful and fun. The kids had more fun there.
