Great place to stay. Really close to everything you need to be close to (trailheads, store, visitor center, etc). Thanks for a great experience.

I would apriciate option for paying for showers with card or free showers.

We spent two nights at Mather Campground. The campground itself is quite pretty. Our site, fortunately, didn't have too many rocks to put up a tent, and it was partially shaded by pine trees. My one complaint relates to the grimy sinks in the restrooms. I did not see evidence that they were cleaned during our stay, although trash receptacles was emptied. The restroom sinks have no surrounds, so our toiletries were pretty much relegated into the scum left around the sinks. in addition, some campers dumped their dishwater into the sinks, obviously not having read the instructions campers were provided at checkin. Fellow campers, including me, who suggested dumping dish water (and washing dishes at the campsite), received dirty looks for their efforts. Unsurprisingly, neither of the two sinks in the restroom drained well. It would be helpful if a campground host (not sure if our loop had one) or checkin personnel reinforced that campers should dump gray water into toilets and the reason for that. -- Mule deer frequent the campground, especially the water pump area, as do ravens. Ravens are also greedy food robbers, so be advised! The shuttle bus system works quite well handling the crowds of visitors, and the bus drivers we encountered were all well informed, humorous, and quite personable.

If camping in November make sure to bring appropriate clothing and tent, the nights are long and cold for people from warmer climates. Contain food and drinks in a secure place when going out because the crows will attempt to break in. Other than that, enjoy the canyon view and the snow that will periodically fall throughout the month.

Stayed early May 2023. Weather was great. Campsite was great, close to the restrooms, and not crammed against others. Easy walk to the check in stand /laundry/showers and bus line. Good amounts of shade throughout the day and plenty of space for a large tent

Close to really good look-out points. Clean bathrooms. Neat campsites (pine loop). Good spots for tents and a well designated fire pit. Deer walked right through camp, a cool experience!!
