My wife and I found the check in process to be very smooth and were happy to find our campsite clean when we arrived. During our stay, my vehicle's battery died and I was more than thrilled by the willingness of a park volunteer to come up to our campsite with a portable battery pack to assist with a jump start.

Park Ranger was most helpful and informative. Area was well maintained.

Great campground...plenty of space for my Class C RV and tow vehicle. One BIG problem though...the showers and laundry were closed during my entire visit due to a water leak on an old/obsolete water piping system from the North to South RIIM.

Only paid $9, half off the regular $18 rate, with Golden Access pass. It was hilly driving down to the site but fine once we got there in our 18’ Roadtrek 170 Popular RV. We were there in May and the weather was just about perfect — not too hot nor too cold.

No question about returning here if a reservation for consecutive days can be had. It’s pretty high demand in May. We could only get one night at this site and a separate site the next.

Great stay at the Mather Campground, conveniently located just a few miles from the rim, visitor center and village.

Our rv has its main door on the right side. Our site like about half of the sites had the door opening toward the road rather than toward the picnic table. For small rvs like ours this could have been easily fixed with just a small bit of asphalt to allow turning in the other way and then back onto the one way road. In any case if this is a priority for you select your site accordingly. Otherwise it is a great campground.

This is a favorite campground, since we visit Grand Canyon once a year or so. While not the wilderness experience of more remote places, it is an excellent base while we visit the magnificence of The Canyon. Dry camping, which is fine for us.

Great site full of facilities! Camping here is so easy, you don't need to be experienced at all. Marketplace within walking distance with all the items you forgot or didn't bring enough of. Flush toilets and potable water at every loop. Rangers were super nice and each loop has a camp host. Reserve early!
