This was our 2nd trip to Mather and it was excellent once again. Great location in the park for sightseeing, shopping or just relaxing. Met some wonderful people and saw some wildlife. We had a herd of 10 elk hang out at our site off and on all week. We used the laundry/shower facility, it was clean with hot water and decent pressure. The 2 guys that were in charge that day were very helpful and friendly. Overall, a great trip. We will be back.

169, juniper loop was close enough for a short walk to the trash and bathrooms. Showers are at service center right of check-in entrance.

First time camping for my kids. We came all the way from Paris and they loved it. They definitely want to come back at the exact same spot

Overall very nice besides the showers. I am sure this campground is sold out when the park is open so there should be enough funds to provide a free shower at every loop within the campsite.

It was a huge disappointment to find out that the markets here at the Grand Canyon are out of firewood. recreation.gov makes a big deal out of how itโ€™s against the law to bring in your own firewood. The only other negative I have is that it takes about 15 minutes to walk to the nearest bathroom

Site was somewhat close to the main road, so a bit noisy. As expected, lots of other campers - but facilities were in pretty good shape given the number of people using them. Would have been nice if the showers would have been open in the evening, too. But definitely a great experience to camp at the Grand Canyon!
