Our site was a pull through in the Juniper Loop, but it had big trees on both side and a huge rock on one side of the entrance to the site. These obstacles made it impossible to pull through the site, so i was forced to back in. The site was very unlevel, but we were able to compensate with our levelers. The site was very wide open and bordered the rear of the campground. We had an elk hang around our site for over an hour one evening. We loved our stay here. We really liked the female ranger that checked us in and we thanked her for working without pay during the govt shutdown. Unfortunately, most of the attractions like the visitor center were closed.

My favorite campground. Love to walk the trails and along the rim or hike down into the canyon. Fairly private sites and it is fun to see the elk walk through. Having the grocery store nearby is helpful. Wish the showers and laundry had been open all week. That was hard. Also, if you have an rv, be sure your propane tanks is full for cold nights because the closest place to refill is 23 miles south at an rv park.

The campground itself was wonderful, easy to navigate loops, and the dump station was appreciated. However, our frustrations really came with the loop snot matching up with our RV trailer. Half of the pull outs put the awning and door opening into the road rather than the campsite. This was extremely frustrating and then some of the loops were so tight that it was difficult to get our 21 foot trailer turned into them.

A wonderful place to camp with close access & free bus lines to view the Grand Canyon south rim. Showers not so good & the restrooms spread out to far apart in the camp ground not enough to hold this campground back from being excellent with its wildlife & close proximity to the village & rim.

We had a great time at Mather Campground! Camper services, the market plaza, and the visitor's center and canyon itself were a short drive from our campsite. The area was beautiful and we truly enjoyed our time there.

Impossible to get 2 nights in a row at the campground but when I was there campsites were tagged as reserved but not occupied. People reserved but dont show up? Is there any way to manage this? Other than that enjoyed my stay and rangers were friendly and professional!

The place is falling apart. Massive pot holes. So many of the sites the road has just degrading and you just park on the dirt. The grades on some of the sites are crazy. Very few water stations and bathrooms that should have been replaced decades ago.

Transport connection within the park was great. My husband got to see for a change!

I’ve been to the CGNP many, many times but I’ve never stayed at the campground before. I enjoyed being able to stay in my camper so close to the rim. Plenty of walking trails and services nearby for the campground.

Mainly quiet site #156, nestled in the pine trees, and a 20-25 minute walk to the Grand Canyon rim and Market.
