Check in went smoothly after reserving our campsite online. Bathrooms were very clean.

We stayed here first weekend of April, it started snowing/sleeting, temperature reached 16 degrees at night but that didn't stop us from enjoying our stay. Restrooms were close by and incredibly clean. 3rd time I've stayed here and the bathrooms cleanliness always impresses me, plus they had heaters. Our parking situation for our 2 campsites was a bit confusing but aside from that, great stay.

Great campsite with water and restrooms nearby and plenty of shade. Be ready for the elk - they are thirsty and will approach (and take over) water sources.

Convenient location, clean, good facilities. Definitely not great if you want to be far from other campers, especially in the winter when there's little foliage on plants, but otherwise really nice spot.

The campground is nicely maintained. Each site has space for parking, a tent, and a fire pit. There are bathrooms, but there is no shower nearby the bathrooms. The shower is located near the entrance of the campground for an additional fee.

Perfect location to camp after a long day of exploring the grand canyon. However. The terrain was almost too rocky for tent pitching. Our tents ended up being very near other campers due to large rocks all over the site.

This is my second trip to Mather campground. This spot was plenty big (we had three tents) and six people. The bathrooms were clean. The water spigot leaked all night. The birds are crazy so put it all away. A great place to camp at the Grand Canyon.

We got there after the rangers had left for the day. The instructions to check in were clear. The campground itself was well kept and there was a lot of room in each campsite.

Host was great and adjusted our site with less snow, but the snow clearing overall could have been better.

Make sure you put up your tent in the actual flat area, not where the rocks are lol. Youre very close to the wildlife but they are not tame. The camp itself was kept very nice and the restrooms were super clean. Its a great distance to both the town and the Grand Canyon. The little shopping village was super cute. The park rangers were quite excellent. The ground is hard, as advertised. Bring extra blankets.

The noise at night was ridiculous! The women's bathroom door was broke, and didn't shut properly. Every time someone went in or out, the door would slam so loudly, it startled me badly several times, and never got a good nights sleep, in the 3 nights that we stayed. If we propped the door open, the hand dryer was right next to the door and extremely loud as well, when trying to sleep. Also, there were so many campers coming in after 10pm. Most of which, did not care or realize how loud they were. The worst part was the headlights going through your tent. Then other campers cutting through your campsite and shining their flashlights on our tent. After the first night, we moved our tent. It was still loud. When the janitors came to clean the bathroom, I complained about the situation, and how to remedy. I was told that the door had been broke for 4 months, and they were short-handed, "that's not my job", and the like. I was told to go to the campground rangers and ask to be moved. The campground is completely booked out. Why should I have to move my tent and camp again, for a 5 minute repair? Ironically, they fixed the door, the morning we were leaving. When we first arrived at our campsite, there were 4 little girls playing on our picnic table.(Their mothers were at the picnic table in the next site over, but very close by) I thought the moms would call their kids back over to their own site. They turned around and looked at us but said nothing, even when I started to put our things on the table. The girls finally left the table, but stayed in our site, and started singing at the top of her lungs the same song several times. After traveling for hours, I had a headache and was looking forward to the sound of nature. I told the girl, good job, and that was good for now. She continued singing, and yelling. We also had to contend with their movies, or whatever they were playing on their devices. It was so rude! Why can't people think of others? Loved the elk.

Staff was kind and accommodating! Very clean and well-kept campground with a spotless bathroom. Only complaint was the odd shower hours (6am-1pm, I believe) due to staffing shortages. Close to the store but no road noise which was nice.

It’s hard to not have 5 stars here. Approximately my 25th(?) time camping or staying in a lodge here over the past 15 years. Only complaint was my particular site was loaded with uneven large rocks all over and tent placement was not easy. Also the giant smelly dumpster 20 feet from the car made for lots of foot traffic at our site. Don’t get me wrong. Still had a fantastic time but I’ll choose my site more carefully next time.
