Prachtige camping, ruime plaatsen onder de pijnbomen. Zon en schaduw, schoon sanitair, aardig en behulpzaam personeel.

The campground itself would be a 5. However, amenities were disappointing. Showers were quite a walk from campsites. And with 158 RV sites the dump station was terrible. Poorly designed. Two way approach, but only a single drain. From one side the slope of the pad was wrong. No water available to rinse black tank so had to use long extension hose to connect to the potable water tap. What in the world was NPS thinking on this dump station?

Nice surroundings. Our site nr 119 Juniper loop, was basically just broader asphalt with everyone and every vehicle passing within a meter of our door. Guess we knew upfront, since actual site was on driver's side. Just don't choose this site. We left day early.

We had a very good time bicycling the south rim of the Grand Canyon. Bicycling is the best way to see the canyon from the top of the rim. Hiking is the best way to get up close and personal with the canyon to the Colorado River. However, this takes extra planning. If you hike, please dont forget to take enough water for unexpected situations. We heard so many stories of people not having enough water on their hike. The campground is situated nicely in the surrounding woods but some of the sites are difficult to maneuver into and/or are not level. We had a bad experience with a rude and unprofessional groundskeeper which sticks out as a bad mark against the overall experience but the canyon itself is magnificent and needs to be enjoyed by everyone at least once.

Amazing, once-in-a-lifetime camping experience at the rim of the canyon! I will do it again every chance I get! The laundry facility is large, well-stocked, and the staff on duty very helpful and friendly. You will encounter elks throughout the campgrounds, no doubt! They are very mild-mannered and mind their own business, just grazing nearby unbothered, but be sure to keep a safe distance, as they're still wild and unpredictable! Do not try to pet them or feed them! Bring headlamps so you can make your way around the camp safely after dark, as there a strategically placed boulders throughout. Enjoy!

We throughly enjoyed our stay at Mather Campground. The layout, and facilities were excellent. The limited shower and laundry hours are very restricting. In our experience, we had left our site for the day before the showers opened, and returned from hiking etc. after they were closed. The only way to effectively use them is to plan an extra day of staying in camp in order to shower and launder. It would be great if you could figure out a way to offer services first thing in the morning and/or at bed time.

Nice campsite. Very basic with no hookups. Charge for showers is quarters at $2.50 per shower. Bring change as change machine wont take large notes. If in an RV be aware generators are only allowed 2 hours in morning and 2 hours in evening. Beautiful sites just wish more showers. Easy to check in and shops and shuttle walking distance.

We visited during an unexpectedly snowy period. Our site was one of those that is basically a bulge in the road, It felt a little tight, with the road being right outside the door, and we couldn't pull in further away from the road with how the road had been plowed, but it all worked out ok. The ranger who walked around were nice and friendly but the ranger in the building was gruff. The park was beautiful and we were very glad to spend time biking and hiking around. Lastly, the fresh water spigots were turned off so we got very low on our freshwater tank levels.

The telephone reservation and RV campground we’re great! Bus service was also extraordinary.

However, many park employees were short on customer service not taking time to give good information to visitors like us who were not familiar with the park. One bus driver, when asked if the bus went to the south rim where we could see the canyon, said “this is the south rim!” The better answer answer would have been “yes, this bus goes to the visitors center and you can see the Grand Canyon from there. You cam take buses from there to other stops and see more of the canyon’s from the south rim!”

The roads could use some work but all in all we enjoyed our stay

Quiet. Fire rings. Elk walking around. No electricity but good sized campsites. Bathrooms without showers well placed. Nice places to walk. With COVID showers were closed and it’s a good walk to the bus shuttles.
