To take the shuttle, try to get close to the north so the walk isn't so far if you have kids and note that there is a way to walk some to 'reverse' directions on the shuttle so you don't have to make the whole loop. The sites are really nice. They're not super private but are large and have nice terrain. Bathrooms are flush and have a sink for washing dishes and are close to sites. I guess NPs just don't usually have showers or you have to go to a main location and pay for them. There were lots of sites available in October so really nice to be able to have a flexible schedule.

Great campground! Surprisingly very quiet at night, though the ravens are sure to wake you up in the morning as they gallop about the grounds looking for leftovers. Had a great time!

It was great experience in this campsite in general. it was clean, quiet and safe. The only thing I wish to be improved was the water tap in the restroom. I think the time for the water is too short, and the amount is too little also.

Loved loved loved the camp ground. After spending a week in the desert, the trees were a welcome addition. The sites are large, the restrooms/water are close by. The only rub I have with mather is the shower house. On the other side of nowhere and $2.50 in quarters to take a shower?? Give me a break. How bout upping your camp fee a buck and a half and they're in the shower. I had to drive to Flagstaff, planet fitness ( I highly recommend their black card membership) to take the most luxurious shower I think I've ever had. Lol. I would do mather again though. Just don't plan on a shower. Oh yeah, really convenient to the South rim.

We were in site 117. It backed up to the road, but the road was quite a ways off so we felt a bit more isolated than being in the center of camp. The restrooms were a short trail away and were kept clean. We saw elk upon arriving and deer later in the day. Overall great campground experience and we appreciated being so close to the Grand Canyon.

Great location to start our rim to rim hike with shuttle pick up to trail head.

We were in site #177 which was really close to the paved trail system, so easy to ride to the rim on our bikes. The sites are big and the trees are lovely.

A great campground with a little more space for each campsite. We could barely see our neighbors on two sides. The bathrooms were clean. There’s a shuttle that runs from the campground to the visitor’s center and hiking trails. Enjoyed our visit!

Great spot, except for the Dumpster in front of the campsite.
We had a great stay! We really loved the walking path and all the elk roaming the campground was a bonus
