For as large of a campground that it is, it was surprisingly quiet. Great facilities and clean.

The camp sites are located too close together to have any sense of privacy. The park service needs to eliminate the total number of sites by at least 40% to give more space between each campsite. Very bad layout of the sites at this campground.

Great campground. Well maintained. The elk didnt read the quiet hours signs.

Conveniently located, within walking distance of the supermarket and shuttle bus. Spacious campsites with enough distance between them to feel some privacy from your neighbor. My only critique is that the showers are far from the campsites and cost $2.50 for 5 minutes.

Poorly managed sites. The management has no idea which campers are where. First site, the one we reserved, had other campers there already. Instead of asking them to move, we were asked to move to a much more crowded area. Noisy RV generators are on all night and the park does zero patrol. Felt very unsafe! Had to move us three times due to improper reservation system. Many campers reserve sites and never show up. The park holds their reservations even after days have passed and their reservations have expired. All of the decent sites are booked, but remain empty. Bathrooms have feces smeared on the walls. Ground is rocky, trash overflows, and everything is in a state of chaos and disrepair. Worst camping experience in over 40 years of camping. Would rather spend the night in jail than in this park. I’d probably meet better quality people behind bars than the vagrants and drug addicts that frequent this place. Stay away! Disperse camp or find another option. Not safe, crowded, overpriced, disgusting and mismanaged. You’re trapped there once you’ve paid the $35 Grand Canyon entrance fee, be prepared to pay Disneyworld prices for the essentials. $9 for canned soup and over $4 for fuel. Words cannot describe how awful this park is, the management should feel ashamed of themselves, their park, and their ability to manage it. Negative stars if that were possible.

We had a great time tent camping at Mather campground. The site was spacious with the standard picnic table and fire pit. The wildlife is active through the campsites so listen to the directions on food storage.

The staff for check in were informative, polite, and helpful. The campground is beautifully maintained and I will be back to that campground again! Great experience!:)
