October is the ideal time to visit the Grand Canyon and Mather campground provides everything you need for an ideal experience. Great sites and facilities. Highly recommended.

One of the nicest camping spots in AZ and definitely among the easiest. Well-run, clean, great amenities, and so close to the Grand Canyon!

I cancelled this reservation within one hour after realizing I had made it for the wrong dates. Actually waited on the phone for the one hour and was charged the amount of the campground anyway. This is either very poor customer service or work ethic on the side of the recreation.gov

We had a fantastic time tent camping at Mather. Everything was close, bathroom was clean. I look forward to going back and staying again sometime.

Mather campground was one of the best camping trips weve ever had! Family friendly, quiet, and chill. With the restrictions on generators at night, sleeping is easy in a tent. Bathrooms were always very clean. With so much to do in the Grand Canyon, this is the perfect spot to get to any hike, bike, or tram ride!

The campsite was great, I love being in the trees. The park spot was a little hard to back into because so much asphalt had broken away, even with a smaller car. Since we were there before the last freeze, we had to wash dishes at the site and tote water to the toilets to flush so bring a small pail or larger pan to hold your wash water. We got back early from a hike and the campground was very quiet so we had the pleasure of watching three elk cows grazing throughout the campgrounds and laying down for a nap one site away from us. Very peaceful and friendly.

Clean, spacious sites, plenty of shade. Clean bathrooms. Just a few minutes drive to the General Store and Visitor's Center.
