Always enjoy staying at Mather Campground. The sites are big and the facilities are decent.

The campsite has its own shuttle stop (blue line), which made the park very accessible. They had numerous facilities and garbage dumps, which made it easy to camp.

My first night at Mather campground it snowed during the night and it became unbearably cold. I had to abandon my site and only stayed one of the 3 days I paid for.

Friendly staff, beautiful campground, awesome national park. The only con is the cleanliness of the restrooms of the campground.

I was in site #207 Oak Loop and it was great. Oak Loop is really spacious, trees for a hammock, clean restrooms and peaceful. Just enough room for my 16 ft trailer and TV. It is on the left side, so my door opened to the road, but it was not a big deal. Definitely want to stay here again!

We had a great stay here - clean bathrooms, plenty of space despite the 300+ Mather sites and easy access to the shuttle bus. We stayed three different nights at three different sites, two in Oak and one in Fir with our 22 campervan. Definitely recommend!

Our ranger came by during the solar eclipse and let us use his glasses to see it happen.

The bike paths were great for getting around the park.Picnic table and fire ring were great. We saw at least 7 elk in the campground. I saw workers repairing the pavement in one area. It is definitely needed where we camped. The campsite where were was a very narrow pull through facing the wrong direction so that the door opened to the street rather than the site. Over all, we had a very enjoyable stay.

Well-spaced campsites give you better privacy than most campgrounds. Most sites had a couple of trees for some shade.

We really enjoyed this campground. The sites are spaced well apart and have some shade from trees.

Fantastic campground within a longer walk or easy bike ride to the visitor center and other viewing areas at the south rim. Clean bathrooms, plenty of access to potable water and dumpsters. Friendly staff and plenty of wildlife-elk, deer, birds. We really enjoyed our time at the Mather campground and will hopefully stay again in the future!

We loved the space in this campground; not squeezed together like in some campgrounds. Semi-desert and whispering pines. While there are many campers/RVers, they're split up between different loops so the effect is that you only see/hear a few at a time. A lovely walking path to the grocery store and the deer were great to see.

But it wasn't all roses: we were fairly appalled at the state of the bathrooms on Oak loop; despite being cleaned daily they were basically atrocious most of the time (the other bathrooms we visited seemed better). The shower schedule also made NO SENSE to us: maybe 6am-1pm shower times are good for a workday in the city, but after a long, hot and sweaty day of hiking and sightseeing, I don't know of ANYONE who doesn't want a shower. This policy needs to be revised.

Additionally, there was only one working bathroom stall available at the men's showers (as of June 2021). Lastly, some of the roadways could use fixing up; we'd hear a ka-chunk! ka-chunk! from every passing vehicle. Campers also need to be reminded that washing dishes at water spigots is a no-no.

We'd stay here again but would pick our next spot wisely.
