Excellent facility inside the park. Paved bike trail available leading to all of the overlooks along the south rim. Bathrooms were in great shape and there are nearby showers and laundry. Tables and fire pits weee well maintained and spots were fairly level. Quiet at night.

We camped here in March and in the evening the temperature was 26 F. It was quite cold and snowy, so I recommend warm sleeping bags but anyway it was a great experience. The landscape was beautiful even in snow.

Lots of campsites, but didnt seem right on top of each other. Close to the camp store and bus shelter making it possible to park the vehicle's during the stay and walk where you wanted to go.

The Aspen Loop site in the Mather campsite was wonderful. We stayed for 5 days. When we first arrived on Friday the 12th of July the bathrooms were clean and well stocked with hand soap and toilet paper. Unfortunately, the rest of the week had no soap, and the floors and toilets were dirty.

Mather is a great location (easily walking distance to the rim, market, shuttle). Camp sites are well-spaced allowing a nice degree of privacy. The sites are very clean and the restrooms are well maintained. Perfect for our multiple-night visit. Our recommendation for campers staying at Mather: don't mess with the shuttle system for sunrises and sunsets...just walk to the rim and enjoy! We used the shuttle system for two sunsets but found we enjoyed the views within walking distance more because we could sleep later (sunrise) and got back to camp earlier (sunsets) and the venues were much less crowded but just as beautiful. Our only complaint (though minor) is generator noise. Even when generators are run during the allowed time windows, they can be very loud. A couple of mornings at our breakfast picnic table we had to really raise our voices just to be heard across the table.

Staff were very friendly, bathrooms were decently clean, what more could you want!
Water was turned off at campsites and last shower is at 3:45 besides that it was absolutely wonderful. Less crowded, beautiful fall weather just an amazing time!
Everything is well laid out and centralized. The bus system is convenient and helpful, very clean as well. Having made a long drive from San Diego, I was very pleased with the fact that a well-stocked grocery store was a quick walk away from my campsite. The rangers were all very kind and helpful. My favorite camping experience thus far!
I checked in, went to my space, and immediately went back to the desk to cancel the stay. The desk man had left in the 10 minutes we were gone. I stayed on hold with recreation.gov for a refund and after 24 mins of waiting I was hung up on. I never got my refund, which I still need since we didn't stay. The showers were closed when we got there, the site had said NOTHING about this as well as them being paid showers. It had been 4 days on the road since we hadn't showered at that point. I was furious and we decided to leave immediately and put more road behind us.
If there are speed tests submitted for a campground the campsite icons will be colored based on the average download speed and the border will be colored based on the average upload speed.
In this example Campsite #123 has very good download speeds and decent upload speeds. If a campsite has a solid yellow color it means there was no data speed detected in the test(s). Clicking on a campsite icon reveals more details.
