Easy check-in and no additional fee as we had the America the Beautiful pass. The parking area was level and we were right next to the heated clean bathhouse. It is quiet there in the winter with lots of elk and deer roaming around. Please mind your belongings as the ravens are sneaky opportunists. The buses were continuously transporting folks around even with the snow. A big bonus for visiting that time of year is the scenic Hermit Road is open to private vehicles. We heard a big snowstorm was coming so left a day early. It was a good plan as the park became locked down waiting for the plows to come in. Looking forward to visiting again without snow next time.

Construction was being done constantly and very loudly. Campsites were so close they should have been conjoined.

Excellent Campground, very friendly and helpful staff. Very close to the next shuttle bus station. Arrive early during high season or make a reservation!

The campground is in a great location being within walking distance of the market and close to the village, the restrooms are kept clean, there is water available, and the noise is not excessive. Its always an enjoyable experience.

Mather is a beautiful, well cared for campground! We loved staying here and seeing all the wildlife! We only wish we could have stayed longer! Hope to visit again next year.

Potable water access was not accessible in one of our restroom areas. So plan to have a 5 gallon jug filled and conserve water. Soap was not always available in some of the restrooms, so it again, bring it your own. The air dryers as ound to like an HR F15 taking off, so choose a site away from restrooms.

Nous aurions apprci que les douches soient ouvertes en fin daprs midi et en dbut de soire. Quand nous sommes revenus de notre longue randonne, on avait besoin de se laver et a fermait 15h45! Mais pour le reste, le camping est trs bien!

The campgrounds were very clean and spacious. The bathrooms were also clean with multiple stalls which was nice. The shower availability was confusing, only open at certain times which didn't correspond with the times posted. Apparently they are managed by an outside source. Overall we had a great experience at Mather campground and would definitely go back again. Highly recommended.

Having been in so many campgrounds where the sites are practically on top of each other, Mather was a breath of fresh air. Beautiful sites, within easy walking of camp services and within a mile or so of the Plaza and Grand Canyon rim. Perfect.
