We stayed three nights at spot #200 in the Mapple loop. We found it really nice. It's not isolated, it's a crowded campground so you can see your neighbors, but you still have some privacy/distance; it was totally fine for us. Natural and calm, with good vegetation and animals walking/flying around. Private table and fire ring (you can buy wood in the market nearby). Close to the toilets but we didn't find water nearby (maybe we just missed it). Paid showers are at the entrance of the campground; they were clean and convenient (just be aware of working hours; closing early).

Had a great time at the Grand Canyon. Bike paths and shuttles made the majority of sites easily accessible from right outside the campground.

Though its a big campground, it is well organised and does not feel crowded. Spacy site, clean.

Overall the campground was good - close to shuttle stop, clean bathrooms, pretty area, etc. Our campsite however (200 Maple loop) was bad and the reason for our lower rating. Specifically, the campsite felt like we were just part of the three campsites that surrounded us. We dont expect a lot of privacy in an established campground like this but it was bad. Unless of course you like sitting in your camp chair looking directly at your neighbors 20 feet away who are looking back at you. Or getting constant smoke from their campfires day and night. Id pick a campsite that has at least some distance from your neighbors.

only one dump station for such a big campground. worse case is it was broken the day I was there.

Great location! Close but not too close the the restroom. The tent pad was very rocky and small. I would stay there again!

The experience at Mather campground was overall good. The restrooms could have been cleaner, which is partly the fault of the users, but the cleaning could have been done more often. Showers, which are coin operated, are a bit too narrow. I could have done with some more space.

Great! Close to everything. Easy to access. Great instructions and map. Clean site and bathroom. Solid water pressure. Great overall experience (even the howling coyotes)
