A great place indeed, close of everything you want: free shuttle, grocery store etc.

Beautiful and clean! So much to do and see at Mather. The staff are super friendly and the shopping is wonderful. Elk are everywhere and so beautiful! I would highly recommend staying a this campground.

Mather Campground was one of the best campgrounds I've ever been to. I was in the tents only section and it was so quiet and peaceful and beautiful. The daily visits from the Elk was an added bonus. The accessibility to the market, showers and shuttle was also a huge plus. Sadly, I had to cut my visit short due to a hiking injury, but I will be back for sure.

Campground is in biking and walking distance from South Rim. It is a bit far to walk but biking makes it easy- you can lock up bikes near path to South Rim. Walking left or right will take you a long glorious sights. Free shuttles (blue and red line) will take you to locations farther away. We don't recommend food there, very expensive and not good quality.

Love the ease of finding a specific campsite and reserving it. Mather is a superb campground with the sites usually spaced nicely apart. The whole operation is wonderful.

My first trip to the Grand Canyon! Other than the park being a bit confusing, roads, paths, bathhouse and shuttle busses it was fantastic! Snow first night of stay!
It was very sad to see the overall state of the park; the employees were all great but the infrastructure need an updating overhaul!
Will be back ASAP!

Great campground! Watch out for huge elk by the water spigots. Clean bathrooms with ventilation. Lots of ravens.

Great accomodations with trails to bathrooms and dumpsters well marked. Easy accessibility to all main trails to the rim, and the market! Wildlife was present- do not feed or water.
