Nice campsite with good amenities and flush toilets, super close to the rim and the general store market for food and things you might have forgotten.

Great area and campground, the campsites are a little closer to each other but it’s understandable with how many people are trying to camp and visit the Grand Canyon.

Staff: friendly.
Restrooms: very clean and well stocked. Wildlife: cute, and plenty of it.

The site has a fire pit and a table with benches.
Your neighbors are about 30 feet away.
Although… if you’re looking to arrive with the idea of getting a site, because online it says “first come, first serve” on the calendar, do not fall for it. RESERVATIONS ONLY! Planned to stay 2 nights… had the first night reversed, couldn’t reserve the second night because it was labeled as “FF” on the website. Thought, cool we will be the first ones there for the second night. Went to go pay for the second night at the booth, employee broke it down to us, that we weren’t allowed to stay because it has already been booked. We mentioned what it had said online of “FF,” and we basically got kicked out. Traveling from another state, it was such a disappointment. Had to quickly pack up camp, and look for another place to stay. Thankfully, we were able to get a room at the Yavapai Lodge. The lodge receptionist at Yavapai commented that it happens to be a common occurrence with campers at Mather.
