The campground was super. The sites are easy to find and have plenty of space between other spots. There's great facilities close to the spots. The FS volunteers that we met were so nice and we visited a few times with them. The elk are all over in the campground which is awesome. It's only a few minutes to the grocery store and all of the main GC sites and train.

Amazing location. Lots of ticks, might be due to early season. Great general store with excellent selection at reasonable prices given location. Services good.

Campsite was clean along with the restrooms. Elk were everywhere.

Perfect place to enjoy all the aspects of nature but close to all the comforts of home. Our campsite was clean with easy to use tent sites, table, and fire ring. The bathrooms were always clean and well stocked. Showers and laundry available, didnt use so cant comment. Everyone was quite enough that you could hear the elk and such out in the woods. Walking distance to the bus line and the general store so there is no need to use our vehicle to get around. The person checking us in was super helpful and friendly with information. We had the best experience here kicking off our camping season. Already have our next few trips booked for this campground.

This spot was close the bathroom, which my wife prefers. We had decent shade, but we also brought a shade cover, so we were covered. It is a nice campground with water, toilets, and a shower at the entrance. I have stayed here twice before and this is one of the best National Park Campgrounds.

This is the best campground I've ever stayed at! Sites were distanced from one another so you had privacy and quiet amidst the trees. The smell of evergreens permeated the campground. Elk came through every morning- it truly felt like we were in the wilderness. The sites were gorgeous and the campground was beautiful.

Mather Campground located inside the Grand Canyon National Park at South Rim is a very nice campground. There are plenty of trees. The bathrooms are well kept, are heated and there are potable water spirkets located throughout the campground. Some camp sites allow 2 cars and others specify one car only. The different camping spots are designed for RVs and others for tent camping. I really enjoyed my stay here. We had a clean camp with a perfect fire ring. There was the added bonus of seeing elk meander through the campground.

Been here twice and it's still lovely as ever. Massive campsites, lots of trees and shade and privacy. Bathrooms are clean. If you come here out of season and during a weekday, it's so incredibly quiet. Definitely among my favorite campgrounds ever. If you have T-mobile, expect to have no signal; if you have AT&T, you'll probably have coverage.

Did 2 day R2R2R backpacking all our gear and food. Started North Kaibab down and hiked up South Kaibab. Caught the orange shuttle to the blue shuttle stop. Blue shuttle dropped us off near the campground. Check in was quick and easy. Site was spacious with bathroom and water nearby. We didn’t pack chairs because there was a picnic table at the site. It rained so we kept our bags under the picnic table(bonus!). There were a couple options of places to pitch the tent. The campground was quiet. Elk came through. In the morning, walked to the shuttle stop which took us to Bright Angel Trailhead to start our day 2. We will be back and want to stay longer to experience all that South Rim has to offer.

Our campsite was so rocky it was difficult to pitch a tent and put stakes in the ground. This should be explained about this site. But the restrooms were decent and the space was nice.

Mather is one of the best campgrounds, so does their management - the location is always a plus for the Mather. Best experience staying here.
