Check-in after hours was super easy. Not all sites are level, but ours was. Super clean campground

Enjoyed staying at Mather Campground. Had laundry and shower facilities away from the campsite but it worked out OK. A large group of people took the campsite close to mine and they played music loud in the morning and evening. Although they followed the quiet hours rule and turned off the music, I wish the park had some controls over the campers' loud music during the day.

We stayed at Mather Campground for our last night on a two week road trip. We loved it! Booking online the day before was easy and we had no trouble finding our site when we arrived. Proximity to the canyon rim was great, maybe a 3 minute drive to Mather point. Watching the sun rise there over the canyon was incredible! Do it!

Mather campground is well-planned with a lot of space between sites. The sites themselves are spacious. The campground is with in walking distance of the rim, the park headquarters ( closed to the public) and the marketplace area. So very convenient for groceries and walking.. Tthe restrooms leave a little to be desired. They are old, so not updated and small. The laudry and showers are very neat and tidy, and work well, although not cetrally located in the camping area. We thoroughly enjoyed our site in Oak section # 211. I would highl recoommend camping there.

We had a nice time and got a good hike in. The only drawback was a large group that got up at 4am and talked loudly until leaving for their destination!

Good campsite in a beautiful location. Unfortunately, many of the services that would normally be available (showers, laundry, shuttles) were not available during my stay. The roads in and around the campground could use some upgrades.

I wish they would get the coin-op showers going again (not in use due to covid as of March 2021), but otherwise this is a really great campground to have right in the park. The check-in staff was super helpful. The bathrooms were clean (and warm just because they were enclosed, considering how cold it was outside when we were there in late March!). The picnic table was solid and parking at the site was easy. We really enjoyed how this campground is so close to everything on the South Rim Village. I'd say this is a big win to stay here if you are fortunate to get reservations.
