National Parks might not be the best choice around holidays.

I have been to many State Park but this one by far was so amazing. You need about 2 weeks to see it all . October was a great month to go not real cold and just hot enough. Want to thank you all for your hard work . Have no complaints everyone was helpful and the camp grounds were clean. Great place for a family get together, WHY because no service. Play card games sat around the campfire and talk told storiesHad opportunity to reconnect with everyone. So we are all plan are next trip back.It looks almost not real. Amazing Beauty.

Clean organized well maintained campground in the GCNP South Rim area. Clean working heated restrooms. Mather Campground is the premiere value lodging option in GCNP South Rim Area.

One of the best NP campgrounds I've been to, sites are nice and spread out and there was more shade than expected! Bathroomswere large and relatively clean as well.Definitely recommend for beginner campers as there is a large market nearby in case you forget anything like I did!

Mather campground was a great place to stay for our 3 nights in the Grand Canyon. Our spot was clean and a good size for 2-4 people, or 2 tents and a hammock. I did feel quite close to the other campers, and you can hear other conversations from other sites at night - it's not as private as some others. We had a great time! They offer showers for $2.50 in all quarters for 5 minutes (I recommend doing two in a row if you need to wash your hair - so $5.00 in quarters!) - so come prepared if you want to shower. It was quite disgusting - the shower. So dirty. I wish someone would have cleaned in there before we went in!! Shower shoes are a must. I would stay here again :)

Great small pull through camping spot with lots of trees. Close to the restrooms. Very close to the visitor center, general store and the park. Stayed three nights and had a wonderful time. Would definitely stay in this spot again.

Very nice campground. Clean bathrooms and showers. Yes, spots are very close together but pretty much everyone is there for the same reason so its pretty empty during the day. Nice and quiet at night. We stayed in the tent only area so there was no generators.

Beautiful campground. Quiet and loved the Elk wondering through. A bit concerned about the sudden closing of the campground shower facility, but thankfully that was resolved. Showers were much needed.

Quiet. Surprised to see a lot of trash and garbage around the campground. Sad that people don't pick up after themselves.

It was so peaceful and beautiful at the Mather Campground. The bathrooms were accessible and clean. I did not find the shower, but I did not have enough quarters. You will need 10 quarters for a shower. I would have prepared them had I known. It was snowing, but I did not have any issues finding my site. I loved it. The site had pine trees scattered throughout. I was able to hang my hammock. Would love to come again.

Lovely site, complete with visiting elk. Stony ground difficult to install tent stakes. Walking distance to shuttle busses.

The water spigots are kind of spread out, consider getting a site closer to a water source. Other than that it's an amazing campground!

Great campground, we did not have a reservation but there were plenty of spots. Very cold in the morning in mid-November. Good services, friendly rangers. Ask for a spot with morning sun in the winter!

We have been coming to Mather most springs for about 20 years, and the 'Canyon experience' has never been as good as this year, with less crowds and more amiable encounters.
The sites are reasonably well separated and the restrooms cleaned frequently. There is adequate shelter in most of the sites we have used.
The store was better supplied than I had expected, but eating opportunities were very limited. There is a good place for sandwiches (& more!) in Tusayan - Foody.

Campground was clean, close to the plaza and visitor center, making biking to the rim quick! If no bike, the drive from the campground to plaza, visitor center or village were all quick and easy! Campground park rangers were helpful and informative.
