This campsite was a fantastic escape into naturepeaceful, scenic, and well-situated. We were lucky to have a herd of deer and even a few elk wander right through our area, which made the trip feel extra special. The nearby water source and flushable toilets were a nice touch for convenience. Just a heads-up: the ground is a bit rugged, so bring a thick cushion or sleeping pad for tent comfort and safety.

Mather campground is always awesome! Clean, beautiful and friendly. I love that there are showers and laundry. I love the stores nearby with plenty of groceries and souvenirs. Making reservations is easy!

Campsites are on top of each other. Rangers do not enforce 10pm quiet time, nor do they make sure all fires are properly extinguished with water. Our neighbors were up late talking loudly around the campfire until 11pm when I asked them to quiet down for my sleeping family. They went to bed without extinguishing their fire. I filled a pail of water and put fire out.

Great spots (large and nicely wooded). Clean bathrooms.

Had such a great time at this campsite! Very conveniently next to the Rim Trail and Mather Point. Also easy parking at the visitors center. And enjoyed all the tule elk walking around (made friends with one!) Would recommend going to Mather’s Point for sunrise.
