Great site. Easy to get to the shuttle to hike Kaibab trail.

We were lucky enough to score a tent spot at the Watchman campground this past April. The tent sites are close to each other which was surprising but did not take away from the overall experience. The bathrooms were very close to our spot and they were very well maintained. The experience was wonderful and it was so nice to be inside the park for our very first visit.

Very nice campground. Rangers were very helpful. I got there and someone was in my spot, so they gave me one of their emergency spots. It was even better. I do think the amount of campgrounds they need more showers and for them to be open longer.

Loved this campground. Very well maintained, close to the south rim and accessible to trails. Cleanliness of restrooms was amazing. Everything is close to restrooms and water spouts.

I mixed up Mather with Bright Angel Campground so my previous review was incorrect. Mather was fine.

Very clean facilities. I was surprised at how well maintained the bathrooms were. Showers were available so that was a plus. Only complaint I had was that we weren't allowed to have a campfire. I understand it was because of dry conditions though. Perfect distance from Grand Canyon

Campground itself was very nice. Tent sites were very large and secluded. Pull through parking spots were very handy. Bathrooms were pretty clean. Only complaint was that the showers were still not running at full capacity because of covid. They had just opened up period the day before we arrived but only until about noon so didn’t do us any good as we were sweaty from hiking that day. A public campground right outside the park in Tusayan allowed us to pay $5 to use their showers though. Otherwise a very nice stay.

The campsite was alright. I was extremely disappointed in the fact that the shower facilities continue to be closed. The park attendant laughed when he told me that they had been closed for over one year. Because of COVID he laughed. After an exhausting hike down Bright Angel trail it was upsetting to not have the ability to take a shower. If bathroom facilities are open then showers should be open as well. The prolonged closure of the showers in Mather campground and all other NPS facilities is wrong and unnecessary and is likely being done for financial/staffing reasons than because of any COVID restrictions recommended by the state of Arizona. This should be clearly and boldly posted on your website. Just reopen shower facilities!!
