Mather is one of our favorite campgrounds. The rangers are helpful and courteous, the wildlife plentiful and so much to do within the Grand Canyon. You can cook at your site if you wish, or have a wonderful dinner at El Tovar or one of the other dining options. With bike rentals nearby, day or overnight hikes into the canyon and plenty of educational kiosks to visit, there is something for everyone!

The campground was in excellent condition. The water source was nearby as were the bathrooms. The showers and laundry was also very close. Unfortunately the showers had no soap in the soap containers. Make sure to bring your own soap.

Close enough to access hiking trails into the canyon directly, but protected from the wind by surrounding trees. Pleasant campground.

Great staff, clean bathrooms, and walking distance to excellent grocery store.

Great visit. Showers were open and everything was great. We would’ve liked to have an open fire, but understood the fire restrictions.
